Did You Go Shooting Today

Took the new gat to meet my (heavily modified) Wizard today. She did nothing but complain about the nut behind her ruining the day. She was, of course, correct. It is clear to me that I am not going to be ready to compete next week. New roscoe, no holster, and a bad case of oldtimers. I'll just have to charm you with my looks and/or witty repartee [hah!].

JT no mandatory comps here. All for pure entertainment. Welllll except for The Guatamalan Steak House. Way too many great prizes not to take that one seriously.

Thanks to Carl's V Twins the" Subpeona" is back up and running. Best time there so far from concealment is 1.25 seconds.
We have done and are still doing a lot to get the range in visiting shape. Big help coming next Friday and we will be ready to go Saturday morning at 8 AM!!!!

Mauser/Interarms Swiss pattern "Luger" 9mm; CZ75BD; Ruger Mk3 bull barrel. Had fun with all three today at Woody's. The Mauser is an exquisite arm: wonderful trigger and superbly accurate. The sights don't measure up to modern types but it is a very nice shooter. I'm finally getting used to the CZ. I realized today that it is best if I don't shoot it in company with a 1911, the transition between the two is just too difficult for me, I do like the 3 dot sights on the CZ. The Ruger is just a shooting machine, highly accurate with GI surplus Remington lead bullet rounds from the CMP.

Made my weekly trip to the range today. Took my pocket LCP-II, Walther PPQ and the Savage 6.5.
Started with the LCP and had to blow the lint out of the trigger. Ran 30 to 40 rounds through it at 10 and 12 yards. All good hits. Switched to PPQ and ran 2 magazine through the gun without a problem. Somewhere in the 3 magazine a live round got stuck in the chamber. Figured I could take the slide of and get the round out. Did get the slide off but could not get the barrel out of the slide. Not sure what to do because this is a striker fired gun and hitting it the wrong way could cause a problem. Any ideas beside taking it to the smith?
Then on to the 500 yard range. I brought 2 boxes of 6.5 and shot one box. All hits out to 525 yards. The enjoyment of going to the 500 yard range is the shooting the BS. Those 20 rounds took over an hour to shoot.

All gone about an hour ago. Some fine tuning on the range and a little shooting. Wizard is alive. @Geezer, @Johnny , @Burt Gummer, and others will finish the set up for Saturday. Trip planned for 4 PM to B&M HQ. We are looking forward to seeing all Saturday!!!! Parking is in the back, follow the signs. Your first order of business will be to sign your waiver. @Brangus is in charge of signing you up and giving out your tickets for drawings for Nice Prizes.
SEE YOU ALL SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure about a PPQ but on a Glock you can remove the plate at the rear of the slide and remove the striker/firing pin.

Signing yo' waiver is FUST…........... Work with me here people so I can fulfil my assigned duties as a Battery Oaks Greeter and Signer-Upper !!

Eating, shooting, catching up with everyone, BST, etc., all come next.

We're all gonna have an awesome time and go home safely after another record breaking event.

I'm thinking as soon as you hit the property! (If you're going to shoot any on Friday.)
I'm planning mostly on documenting the event on video and still cameras. I was thinking that Friday was set-up day and I would be (spending my time trying to look like I was) helping.

Heck, after three hours in the truck, I'll be limping in circles for the first half hour, and then I'll need to sit down and rest.

I'll see y'all Friday after 1300!
You can sign up Friday. Whether you shoot or not, you'll need to sign a waiver. Pictures and video will be great. You can film me trying to look like I'm helping, too.

Well, maybe it is mostly set-up that day, I'm not sure. I had hoped to do some shooting, but maybe not. If you don't want to lift stuff on the range, you can help me in the bunkhouse...lol.

You and your fruit? I think not, ma'am!

This is why you take breaks when driving....so you can actually move when you get to your destination, without screaming in pain!
No, I am a man. I stop for pee breaks (maybe) and destinations. That's pretty much it.

Well, it'll be very macho when you're all curled up on the gravel crying because your limbs are pretzels.....very manly, indeed! LOL. Looking forward to seeing that!

No, when I get out and limp in circles, I pretend to be reconning the terrain. Fools 'em every time!

TSA in Raleigh, some 9mm Beretta 92fs compact, Nano and the M&P 9mm.
Adjusted the red dot on my Ruger Bull Pup ZK-22.

Watched the man next lane to me clearing his pistols with the muzzle pointed at his abdomen. :(
RSO gave him a few suggestions.

I did. I shot 150 rounds in the RIA 9mm and the G19. Did Wizard-like drills (no timer yet, and no drawing till range manager deems me safe/special enough...lol.), and was not brilliant with the G19, slightly less "not brilliant" with the 1911....I'm still working at it.

Made it out to the range this morning. Shot 60 rounds thru the CZ (practicing for the Wizard....just in case). Then shot about 40 rounds thru the new bullpup hipoint carbine. Fun gun to shoot....sighted it in at 100 yrds. Will bring it down tomorrow to the meet and greet in case anyone would like to try it. Also put about 60 rounds thru the ar9 pistol....will be bringing that too. Beautiful weather for a morning at the range.

Had a nice visit to my local indoor range. Took my standard stock: M&P9mm, M&P45, 686+ (.357) and 629 (.44)...

The only reason I mention it... There was a young lady 2 lanes over shooting a Golden .50 Desert Eagle. She offered to let me shoot it, but stepped away from the range to make a purchase. I had to leave before she got back. I was saddened...

But... I have to say... There is nothing sexier than a woman with tattoos and a .50 Cal Pistol... Though it was kind of spoiled, her side arm was a Glock...

Next time ask her if she has an older sister. ;)

Nothing wrong with striking up a conversation with a young lady who has good taste for firearms.
I ask the ladies to try my suppressors if they want to.

I sure did. Put almost 300 rounds through the 3914 DAO. Various weights & manufacture, including reloads & hollow point. Not a single hiccup. I'm honestly surprised how accurate it is and now disappointed in my FNS-9C.

8 rounds at a 5" square, 5yds away.
