Did You Go Shooting Today

I went to the Cumberland County Range with a forum member this afternoon. Nice guy....I love meeting forum people.

He said he hasn't been shooting handguns a lot lately, but I think he must have been kidding! LoL.
He'll do great on the 5x5 drill!

The range was really quiet early afternoon in the middle of the week.

For me it was 9mm day. Shot some from 5 yards and out to 10 yards. I did pretty well, even with the Glock, but was inconsistent...as always!
I hope to have another shooting day with him, and maybe his wife will join us. I left the revolver for her to try.
A great shooting day, great shooting buddy, and great weather! lol.

I had a great time too, and look forward to next time! Really liked your 9mm 1911; as soon as I got home, I hit the web looking for one. I love my Kimber 45, but that 9 is so easy to shoot.

I also enjoy meeting forum members, and every time has been a good experience. People that enjoy shooting are good people!

I went and shot some steel with the EDC X9 and a Colt 1911. I worked on reaction time. Set the timer brought the gun up and pressed the trigger as soon at I could. Shooting this on steel was great because I got immediate feedback that I had not only pulled the trigger in x time but did it accurately enough to hit a plate. It shot at 10, 15 and 25 yards. At 25 I moved to a 3/4 toro size target. I love shooting steel at 25 and 50 yards. This is really the only slow fire shooting I do. Shooting at a 8" or 12" steel target is enough to verify I am shooting a particular gun well.

I then went over and shot the 5x5 drill which I detailed in that training thread. Overall a good day. Shot the shit with a few of the range officers and other shooters and enjoyed the sunshine.

Love that place. How far is it from you?

PHA is about 3 hours from me.
I had a good time shooting today! Shot the plate racks and did pretty well at 10 yards....lol.
Met Carolina Lucky there, another forum member. Learned some stuff!

Dang. It's about a forty minute drive for me, lol. Glad you liked it and did well.

Yeah, it's a haul from Wagram....but I've been there several times, so it's not that bad. lol. That's what I get for living in the middle of nowhere.

I shot the G43, G48, G17 and a 1911 today. Trying to decide which to shoot in the Saturday match.

Shot pretty much the same groups at 10 yards with all four. That G43 has magic powers to have such a short barrel and sight radius.

I might have out done myself getting ready to go shooting.
Do you think that this is too much for 22 LR practice?
3/8 AR 500 steel that weighs a ton.
It should be able to handle a 308 or 6.5 CM at 3 to 500 yards.
Going to be fun bringing that back and forth to the range.
Free shipping. Bought it on Amazon. Not sure if I paid too much.

Don’t think it will give you that “pingggg” you ordinarily expect from steel with 22lr, however size is on your side. but you will hear it if within close range regardless.

for pistol/22lr I like 1/4 inch.

basic rule of steel is the thinner and larger the louder the gong effect—obviously if not exceeding important limitation like blowing a whole right through it.

I use 1/2 inch for rifle.

the larger the plate Radius the more it will “warp”. just rotate now and then.

That explains the awesome sound of the saw blade (?) At Battery Oaks! It's got a nice deep gong sound! Very nice. Some of the guys can shoot the oxygen bottles and the gong in various orders, and it almost sounds like a tune!

I prefer the melodic minor scale of Vivaldi's Winter, or the the darker, fluid-like diatonic Phrygian masterpiece Asturias, by Isaac Albeniz, but hey....I would settle for tactical Beethoven for its cool factor :)

Met up with a forum member at Frontline so we could trade some Reloading bullets (it was about halfway between us) so I took a few toys to shoot. I took a 9mm and 45acp Witness pistols, as well as a 44mag Desert Eagle. I am comfortable with my 44mag Desert Eagle now, so I shot semi-rapid fire at steel today. It is fun ringing steel with 44mag.

Met with @Jeffncs @Sigequinox220 @zuerjoha at the range, we got to warm up a bunch of fun toys; 458 SOCOM, 5.56, 300BLK, 6.5 Grendel, 45 Kimber. Buckmark, Ruger MKIII, 9 & 40 glocks, Shadow2, 44 mag, RONI, suppressors, shot timer drills.
Even with the rain we had a great time :D
*edit* I left out the KEWL DE 50 AE!

Indeed. great day. You NCer's w. your CZ fetish have got me...turned on to say the least. I also definitely need to pick up a shot timer.

For competitive drill, we did draw shot with mag change follow up (1 in chamber, empty mag).

You only need 2 cans, 22LR & a 30 cal.

...and with all this talk about buying suppressors, I think I’m about to list one for sale. :p

better give your accountant a heads up so they don’t think you’re cooking the books when balance is off for over a year

I may have one or two TBAC’s up for sale.
You came up today because we were all shocked you’d NEVER shot a 10/22 as Jeff was making 100 yard plates sing with his.

Help, I can’t find the thread with the PCC build details and experiences. The search function isn’t the bestest.

Did a "no Glock" day yesterday. No serious practice, just goofing around with some friends at the range. People were shocked to remember I own non-Glocks that also aren't Keltecs.

My ammo tracking spreadsheet lets me know which guns haven't been fired in the last year; theory being if I don't shoot them for 12 months it's probably time to get rid of them. January has been a good month to get lots of red cells to turn green.

Just got back from H2O. Put 45 rounds through my CZ using my[ weak hand. I put a Franklin Armory binary trigger in my M&P 15-22 last week and wanted to see how it did. First couple of mags ran great. Did have a fte on each of the next 2 mags. Have read that it runs better after it’s been broken in some. Was a blast to shoot

Today was "glock only" day, but I was alone... so if no one saw me did it really happen?

Checked a few more things off the spreadsheet. Someone mind breaking into the house this month so I can use the house gun and not have to take it to the range? Thanks. Promise not to shoot you more than 18-24 times, tops.

Yep...finally went to the range again today. Re-upped my membership and got to work on my SR22. My adult nephew messed with the rear sight like I told him not to. I eyeballed it and got lucky. Nearly spot on. Need to take a pistol rest and really zero it again. I haven't been shooting much, perishable skill that it is, so some mechanical help may be a good idea.

On the way out the door, I realized that with everything that has been going on personally that I hadn't shot my EDC in ages. Emptied the mag in it and the reload mag. Then put 50 through it. The last box of Wally ammo in my stash.
