Just because you found a picture on the internet doesn't mean that it actually exists. There is no such thing as the Dick Act of 1902. There is a such thing as the Dick Act of 1903, also known as the Militia Act of 1903. The text for that can be found here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...dBHkQFggmMAA&usg=AOvVaw0QNl5tO1tHUK3TYjovw33k

Furthermore, why would an act passed by Congress carry any more weight than the Constitution? The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. If they will infringe on rights guaranteed by that, they will certainly bypass an Act of Congress.

The law in question was the Efficiency of the Militia Act of 1903.

Let's start with "It also divides the militia into three distinct and separate entities."
The first section of the actual law says "That the militia ... shall be divided into two classes ..."

Then look at "The Dick Act of 1902 cannot be repealed; to do so would violate bills of attainder and ex post facto laws ..."
First, any law passed by Congress can also be repealed by Congress; even the Constitution itself can be amended.
Second, terms are tossed about to impress, not inform.
  • A bill of attainder is an act passed by a legislature that declares a person or group guilty of a crime, usually without a trial. Yeah, you don't see anything related to that.
  • Ex post facto laws make legal actions into crimes after the fact. Again, you don't see anything related to that, but it sounds impressive as heck.

Ahhhhh I see said the blind man....,this is why I posted this and ask about it as I know this is an informed group and that someone would be able to shed light on it and clarify it....thank you one and all

There is misinformation and deliberate lies being spread daily on social media. Nothing you read outside of accredited news agencies can be trusted. The stories from actual news agencies, well it depends on how fresh they are.

I saw one this morning on Facebook that the mayor of San Juan was being impeached, there were other links but the Facebook article was the source of them all. There is no truth to the story.

There was one yesterday that Jason Aldean went on SNL and spoke against the 2A and gave a quote. They also included the video of the appearance which proved he said no such thing.

Some people literally have nothing else to do than to spread lies. If you want to be mad about something why not the fact that we are being lied to.

My favorite quote of all time:
Do not believe everything you see on the internet. - Abraham Lincoln
"...or CNN, FOX, MSNBC, blog and non-blog sites, Pentagon reports, CIA intelligence, PBS, SNOPES, Media Matters,...bla bla bla , etc, etc, etc"
