Dixie Show Raleigh Nov 23-24

Garbage. It is now 14:45 and I see this and remember "oh yeah, it's 11/23". :mad:

I'll try to get out tomorrow. Damn it. Anybody see any DPMS GII .308s?

Don't laugh, but has anyone seen any Remington Nylons over there. I'm wanting to go but I hate to get out in the cold and wet and mingle with a few thousand and come home with a cold. That's the only thing that bothers me about crowds, except crowds.

I walked the whole show twice, but didn’t notice any Nylons. I normally notice those, because my grandfather had one I shot as a kid. After his death, it disappeared and I never found out who got it.

Knightdale Pawn had a clip fed one last week. They should be doing their 20% off used guns Thanksgiving sale starting Monday. Great people there!

I picked up nice one from a fella here. My uncle had one & when I was ~10 he would hand me a brick and sent me off go shooting in the woods for the day. Good times:)
I picked it up to let my grandsons learn on it.

See much in the way of US military there? Any certain gear, ammo, rifles or handguns standout to you?

Plenty of US stuff here, much of it from the usual dealers who carry it. Garands, carbines, 03s, and parts for all of the above. I sold two CMP carbines today. Have one left, along with an interwar 03.

Good deal, i think i have plans tomorrow in raleigh now, thx! :)

I went the CFF table at 11:00, and Button Pusher was the only one I saw. Finally left the show around 1:00. Picked up a 91 30 with laminated stock.
You must not have waited long, Bullseye Baldee and I got there about 11:02, and I waited around for about 10 minutes. Talked to Jeppo and Button Pusher for a while. Lots of distractions, though.

I saw 2 carbines on your table today. They looked very nice.

Couldn’t make it, but a friend picked up a Murphy holster from Corey for me. I don’t know if Corey is a member here, but if so, thanks.
Corey makes some nice leather and the price is right.

I’m sorry, had my wife, daughter, and nephew with me. Everyone wanted to look at different things, so the women finally took off on their own. There’s another show in January. I’ll send you my number so we can meet.

Jeppo and Toprudder were here earlier and later on. Several members stopped by to say hello and support CFF!

Spent Saturday morning at the show. I thought the show was well attended. Stopped by to say hello to Button Pusher. Got to speak with cubrock, as he was eating his veggies. Spent some time at Ammo Plus, talking with Mark. And, Johnny at the Swap Shop. Bought another Marlin 60 (what am I going to do with all them Marlins and Glenfields?) at Picasso Pawn, and a old Iver Johnson Target 22 lr revolver. Found (one) G23 magazine at good price. NO birdshead Ruger 45 Colts. Did see two polished Vaqueros in 44 mag. I remember seeing a couple of Remington Nylons. Didn't look close enough to determine the models. All in all, the show was a good experience.

Sunday attendance was low vs Saturday a full house. We had good location and foot traffic, 2PM not too many people inside,
I closed the table at 3PM and did come back inside to walk around with some CFF cards to hand out to some vendors.

Good seeing you today.

Left having spent more than I planned...
2k small pistol primers
1k large rifle primers
G22 conversion barrel (.40 -> 9mm)
9mm pills
Liberty safe....needs interior rebuilt, but it was a steal!!!

@powwowell

Bear Creek Arms

PM me if you need a G23 conversion barrel. I’ll pass it along to you for cost +shipping. I regret buying it after I walked away... I already have 2 G19s. Don’t really need to make a third.

I was later than late and got to the fairgrounds a little more than an hour before closing Sunday- most everyone seemed to be packing up and I saw a good size stream of folks leaving so I didn't bother to pay to enter the show at all . :(

My favorite at the show was Mr. Bowmans M1A1 30 carbine (folding stock paratrooper). $3k asking price.

Would love to add one to the collection, maybe someday.
