A little background here; a couple years ago I was discussing with my grandpa that I wanted to build a cedar dining room table and was looking for a suitable tree around the farm here to use. He suggested looking for a giant cedar my dad had cut down almost 20 years ago before he passed away, and never had a chance to retrieve. I managed to find the tree and the outside looked like hell. I had a local mill cut it into 2 inch thick boards and left it in a barn top for a long time to dry. I filled the voids with micah powder using a brush, them poured epoxy over that and sanded it smooth. It's taken me over a year off and on to finish this, but this is today after pouring the epoxy top coat. If you look close you'll see 3 sharks I cut out of duct tape using a scalpel from work poured between 3 layers in the center of the table side closet to me in the picture. Do you put a form around the top like when pouring concrete?

Saw the title…then saw this video yesterday. Can you make me one? 😁

I’m not a fan of the river table look, but there is a guy that works at the Matthews Woodcraft that makes them and the same style charcuterie boards. He’s happy to talk about it at length. Can picture him but can’t pull up his name.
