Everyday... But I keep them guessing, did I leave it in the car... Or, is it on me...

Hmmmmmm so I'm curious, for anyone that wants to answer, if you voted not at all, how come? I would wonder why someone who enjoys shooting and is comfortable with pistols would still choose not to carry one.

Lots of people's occupation prevents them from carrying on their person. I do not consider toting a gun around in your car carrying.

I can't carry while at work but keep one in car and on me 85% of the other time

Maybe they only shoot shotguns or rifles?

My employer is 2A friendly so I can carry at work and anyplace that is legal for me to carry, it is very nice since my last employer didn’t want me to even have a pocket knife on my person at any time....

If I’m awake, alive and breathing, I’m carrying! I too avoid malls and do not give my $$$$ to any business that has a gun buster sign on the door. IF I do happen to darken one of the doors, I’m carrying! I carry at home, in the truck or Jeep, while I’m fishing, at the barn, on the tractor, at the cabin, visiting the neighbors, or getting groceries, I’m carrying. First thing I put on in the morning is my pants and then my gun, at night I lay it on the night stand beside my bed. If I’m in the bathroom, so is my gun. In my truck is extra ammo, a rifle, extra mags, a large first aid kit, and an extra G19. Am I paranoid? No, I’m prepared!

I work for a small locally owned, veteran owned business. Our literal company policy on firearms is "no Glocks".

Funny story:

We had a GIS person on staff who was from South Africa. The topic of guns came up. She made a joke that before she moved here she expected every American to have one on their belt.

She stated she was interested in guns, but there are strick laws against them in S.A. and since moving to the States she has lived on college campuses, thus she's never seen one in real life. At that moment 4 of the 5 other employees in the conversation pulled out their firearm, cleared it and offered it to her. The 5th shrugged and said, "mine's in the car."

I'm proud to say she and her husband are now avid shooters.

I voted every single day but...I carry my pistol in an EDC backpack to work. It has an outer kangaroo pouch on the back with a velcro liner where I attached a Maxpedition universal holster that holds my G19 and a spare mag. I keep my sidecar holster with 2 more spare mags in the main area of the pack just in case I go somewhere during or after work so I can slip on my sidecar if needed. The pack is within 2 feet of me while I'm at my desk where I spend most of my day.

I got my CHP mostly so I could travel with guns in the car and not worry about whether they were in "full view" or not. I actually didn't envision daily carry.

Since then, things have gone downhill to the point that I'm extremely uncomfortable with the thought of NOT carrying.

Yeah, it is. When you bring the government into a private matter in which no-one has been harmed you are wandering into unconstitutional territory. You don't own my pockets even when I visit your house.

HMMMMMM wow I bet that could probably spark its own debate in its own thread. I see where you come from, but I believe if you enter my house, and for whatever reason Im not comfortable with you having a gun, I do have the right to ask you to not have it or leave. Now if I dont know you have it I guess theres nothing I can do about it.

In the last 7 days in our little town of Conway a father and son eating out at a nice restaurant were followed home and murdered in their front yard. Known to the entire community as salt of the earth folks. Murdered, robbed, and car stolen. Police found burned out car, traced the plates, went to the house and found the bodies. Here we go...BOTH had CWPs....Neither were armed.
Yesterday a car load of "yutes" shot up a car and shot at a woman and child in their front yard. 10 days ago a man was murdered in his car at the Food Lion.
So yes, I carry. Every step. Every day. Was admonished as being paranoid recently by a poster. Not personally but because I chose to carry within a group of folks they considered paranoid because they carried. This man said he carried a stick and a knife. So only a little paranoid I guess.
I wonder if the last thought that man at FL and the father and son had was...wish I had my gun. I will not be killed for lack of shooting back....IF I can help it. If you hear tonight of me being shot, it will not be because I didn't have my gun.
3 dead folks in a week. Good people. The rules changed a while ago. You choose whether to heed them or not.
From a man who carries every day...since 1976.

Your house, your domain.

I'm just playing devil's advocate, I'm not bringing the government into it. If someone prohibits firearms in their home, that trumps your 2A right to carry (on their property.) Personally I welcome those who carry into my home. I prefer they carry concealed though, because open-carrying will turn it into a conversation about guns, then it becomes show and tell, and now its 4 hours later and all we've talked about is guns. I like to talk about other stuff too, ya know... Like ammo.

They’ll never know I’m CC.

I am thinking...If any of ya'll showed up as a guest and the host asked..Are you carrying a firearm? What would you say? There are dozens of smart little non answers, but what would you say? Just curious...If asked, I would reply...yes. Then we would go from there. Since I have been described as Painfully Honest, it's all I could say.

I would differ on that opinion. I carry wherever I please.

Maybe you don’t understand what the Constitution is? It is a statement of the powers of the feds and of some of the explicit limits on their powers. No more, no less. Well, a little more - how it is organized, elected, etc... also. But that is incidental to the powers and limits.

The Constitution does not grant any rights, it only calls out some of the natural rights the feds are not allowed to infringe.

It has nothing to do with what people want to allow or disallow on their private property, which they have every right to do, at which point you either comply or you are trespassing. That’s just the way it is.

I would say yes, too.

May be better to say I carry where I please or I don’t go there. Concealed is concealed.

Well, that's the quick answer. But, if they ask how many, or where I hide that many guns ......

Why would you be like that?? Closet Liberal?? Maybe that's why I would never darken your doorway.

Hahaha @Bailey Boat I've been around long enough to read some of your posts :) I like them. That being said I'm not taking the bait, to be clear I'm not saying I don't welcome people carrying firearms into my home. However, if someone came to my home carrying, with a holster let's say for arguements sake not covering the trigger, or some other blatantly obvious unsafe manner etc, and in my home around my kids and family, yes I'd ask them to disarm or leave.

Every single day everywhere I go unless it illegal. As far a going to people's house's I've really never been asked so I haven't had to deal with the question. I'm really not sure why the question would be asked since it's concealed and no one would know. But if I was asked the they had a problem with it I'd be looking for new friends.

Your right to carry a gun does not allow you to violate the property rights of other people. Private property owners have the right to set the terms of your presence on their property. If you know someone does not want you to carry in their home to do so is rude and IMHO is morally and legally wrong. You have the choice and the ability to exercise your right to carry by not entering their property. I do not understand why some people think that their rights give them justification to trample on someone else's rights. Sorry but attitudes like this do our community a disservice.

Regarding the debate over Constitutionality vs Private Property Rights, the real issue is respect and judgement.

If the gummint doesn't respect the Constitution, then F the gummint & I'll do what I have to do be & feel safe. Carrying through a metal detector into a courthouse may be a fine way to "I'll show them!" However, it's also a fine example of really poor judgement.

Carrying in someone else's home or business, I'll keep my mouth shut. It they ask (in a home), I'll deny and find some reason to leave. That way, I respect their wish to be defenseless, maintain my own safety, and don't have a gossipy neighbor (or whatever) faceblarting "You know he has a gun on him, don't you??!!", thus making me a potential target for future harrassment, etc.

Decide where you stand, then exercise good judgement in carrying out your decision.

Exactly. If I was asked am I carrying I would answer honestly. I am not going to lie. If I knew before coming to the home that the owner did not approve of concealed carry in their home the gun would have been left secured in the car. If the owner told me that they would not permit me to carry on their property we would discuss it but in the end I would have to choose between complying with my hosts request or leaving. 99.9999% of the time I am going to comply and attempt to education the property owner in a logical and confrontational way. I am certainly not going to simply say something like "concealed is concealed" and it is my right to carry on your property. Refusing someone's hospitality on the spot would also not be my first choice but I would respect if other people chose to leave in such a situation. I just do not think it would be my choice unless I did not want to be there in the first place.
