Do you ever get tired of carrying??

I joke with my brother about how much easier everything would be as a sheeple, but no, I do not seriously consider not carrying. The inconveniences of carrying a weapon are petty compared to the consequences of not carrying a weapon.

Find a set up that works for you, and one that you can carry consistently. Also ask yourself "if I got into a gun fight, is this the gun I'd want to have to defend me and mine?"

Ive struggled with my new job. I cant carry there. Or I can….but Ill get fired. Which isnt a good option. sucks. Otherwise, Im usually packing

Well, the one I want is a M240B with spare belt. But, since theyre highly restricted and not easily concealable on one's body, I guess that little .38 j frame or my 9 mil will have to do ;)

While the following ONLY apply to me I am honestly trying to answer your question....
1. I have carried every day since 1976 legally. Before that I broke the law.
2. I do not carry because of the percentages of needing it. I carry because of the possibility.
3. I made myself a solemn promise that my last thought on earth will NOT be...If I only had my gun...
4. No, I never tire of carrying. The "having to" part makes me yearn for older times, but I can't change what has happened. So, I must prepare. I am my "first responder".

I’ve been carrying for going on 15 years now. In the beginning it was the smallest gun I could afford and half the time it was left at home. The more I’ve carried, the less I care about size and weight. Most of the time now it’s a Glock 17 or a 23 if I want something a little smaller/lighter. Maybe once every 2 months I’ll carry my LCP.

As to the previous comment about that’s what God is there for, maybe God is putting me there to protect my family or someone else. Sometimes you have to stop praying for a solution and realize that maybe the solution is up to you.

The old saying "God helps those who help themselves" comes to mind. I have to wonder if God will be blamed when such a situation takes a turn for the worst.

Haha, I knew someone was going to say that! That j frame will do work.
In all seriousness, the only work I need any of my carry guns to do is get me to my truck. Then, one of two things will happen depending on the situation:

1. I un-ass tbe ao as quickly as possible.

or

2. The SBR comes out and somebody, or several somebodies, including myself, are about to have a very bad day.

That is no where to be found in the bible.
But hey you live it your way and I’ll continue to do it mine.

I don’t even think about...I just do it.

These days the heavier 1911’s and .357 K frames just come out to exercise at playtime.

Glock 27 or 26 are light and flat and carry so fine in one of Glock’s cheap plastic sport/combat holsters. Put’em on and good to go daily.

Glock 23 ain’t bad.

Like J frame S&W’s. D Colts, and Bulldog .44 at times also.

Others I have don’t get carried.

Where did he say it was in the Bible? He said “the old saying” not “the scripture.”

However, there are a number of passages that encourage men to be ready and prepared to defend those they love and those who need it.

Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;” considering Christ was willing to sacrifice his life for the church we also should be prepared to do the same.

We also have Luke 11:21
“When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace”

Or Proverbs 25:26:
“26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.”

Or Romans 13:4
“ For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”

Psalm 82:4
“Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.”

Proverbs 24:11
“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.”

Carried since 1990.

No, I never tire of it. It is second nature....get up, get dressed (pistol included) and leave the house. I don't worry about printing, "wonder if anyone knows I'm carrying?" or the like. You start dwelling on stuff like that and before long, you get fidgety, play friggon fiddly fingers with your shirt and do other things that may draw attention to yourself.

Just carry, don't fret and know that what you're doing is righteous.

You guys that carry Glock 19,17,1911... And similar size guns, are you iwb or owb?

IWB for me. Pretty much only time I carry OWB is if I’m on my way to a match or something.

If weight is the issue why are you carrying a WWII tank? The market is flooded with single stack wonder nines that you won't even realize you are carrying.

My problem is like most people I can't carry where I work so is it worth it to put it on just to have to take it off again before I even get out of the car, and is it worth it to put it on just for a quick run into a store or to pump gas on the way home?

I carry this everywhere I go, and when I pull into the parking lot at school it goes in the lockbox. After school it goes back in my pocket until bedtime, then up in the morning, rinse, repeat.

Bless your heart. Just as made up and meaningless as “cast no shadow”.

Kinda makes one wonder what percentage of his contributions here are just "useless words" he made up, doesn't it?

“God helps those who help themselves” may not be scriptural, but it was popularized by Benjamin Franklin in the Poor Richards Almanac. You know...one of those founding fathers we all seem to respect highly because of their wisdom and fortitude.

When I had my shield, the apendix rig I had dug into me when I bent over or sat down. Not sure how y'all do it with bigger pistols
Ironically, my CZ carries better than my Shield did appendix. The shield was so short, it dug in no matter what I tried. The CZ still digs in some, but not as much because I can get the barrel to sit in the 'crease' at the leg/hip.
I have carried a USP40 (theres a biggun for ya) in the same manner with no issues. It dug in less than anything else, but I looked like I gained 15 pounds and had a pooch belly lol.

I get the impression that @Bailey Boat is more psychologically tired of carrying rather than the physical discomfort that can come from carrying, I understand that. Do I wish that we were a society where I didn't have to make sure my wife leaves the house with her phone, gun, and has a med kit in her car? Absolutely. The world is a dangerous place...for more reasons than a gun can solve.

Do I carry everyday, everywhere I go? No. I can't at work, I probably am in the high 80-90% range of when I carry outside of that however. Do I feel weird not carrying? No. Am I anymore aware of my surroundings? No, that shouldn't change because you are carrying or not.

I think alot of people over exaggerate how much and what they carry....if you are packing a Roland special Glock 19 with a RMR, 3 extra mags, a backup G26, 2 knives, flashlights, med kit all AIWB,etc....good for you. I choose not to do so...and you don't go anywhere where you can't do so because " 'merica "...good for you.

The cliche of "don't let my last thought be: If I only had a gun"....statistically your last thought will be "I wish I ate more salads, smoked less, and walked more".

Each person has to balance their risks and needs based on their evaluation of the situation. Do I feel any less armed if I leave the house to go to dinner with my wife and leave my gun in the car? No. Just because I don't have a gun, doesn't make me less dangerous if you try to do me or mine harm. It might equal the field... but your still going to have to work at it...and I'm gonna make you work for it.

"....statistically your last thought will be
Again, personally stats or percentages don't figure into my life style. I carry because of the possibility. Like a spare tire or a life vest. We must all seek our own salvation, another cliché but my plan. It seems from reading your post you are indeed a "hard man". I sincerely hope your plan always works for you. Thank goodness you at least have a plan. Good luck.

I was under the impression that having a firearm on school property at ANY time was against the law? No? Seems I remember a lady in Charlotte that was arrested because she thought she was being followed and pulled off into a school parking lot to wait for the police and she told them she has a gun and a carry permit and was arrested. I could also be dreaming all of this.

OK I found SC laws and you can if you have a CWP but you CAN NOT if you don't. NOt sure about North Carolina. I just always didn't bring one when I would go to the school fields to fly my drones etc.

"
IF you DO have a CWP

  • If you bring the gun to a school or college of any kind, don’t carry the gun on you. It must be in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle.
If I DON’T have a concealed weapons permit, where can I carry a handgun in my vehicle?
You may carry a handgun in a vehicle if secured in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. The exception is that you can’t bring the gun to a school or college of any kind."

NC is close to SC law on this:

§ 14-269.2 & § 14-269.4 (Note: Schools K Thru College and Capitol Building Etc as Listed Above) The provisions of this section shall not apply to a person who has a concealed handgun permit that is valid under Article 54B of this Chapter, or who is exempt from obtaining a permit pursuant to that Article, who has a handgun in a closed compartment or container within the person's locked vehicle or in a locked container securely affixed to the person's vehicle. A person may unlock the vehicle to enter or exit the vehicle provided the firearm remains in the closed compartment at all times and the vehicle is locked immediately following the entrance or exit. Note: The Attorney General of NC is stating that a Private School can prohibit someone from keeping a firearm in their vehicle in their parking areas.

Obviously summed it up better than I did in the OP.

NCGS 14-269.2 changed a little the last time we got some pro 2a legislation passed. Year and a half ago, maybe? Longer? Cant really remember.
Now, it doesn't just have to be in a cloaed container, but ut can be on your person as well. The law also covers you while putting it on or off in the car on school grounds, too.

"(k) The provisions of this section shall not apply to a person who has a concealed handgun permit that is valid under Article 54B of this Chapter, or who is exempt from obtaining a permit pursuant to that Article, if any of the following conditions are met:
(1) The person has a handgun in a closed compartment or container within the
person's locked vehicle or in a locked container securely affixed to the person's vehicle and only unlocks the vehicle to enter or exit the vehicle while the firearm remains in the closed compartment at all times and immediately locks the vehicle following the entrance or exit.
(2) The person has a handgun concealed on the person and the person remains in
the locked vehicle and only unlocks the vehicle to allow the entrance or exit of
another person.
(3) The person is within a locked vehicle and removes the handgun from concealment only for the amount of time reasonably necessary to do either of the following:
a. Move the handgun from concealment on the person to a closed compartment or container within the vehicle.
b. Move the handgun from within a closed compartment or container within the vehicle to concealment on the person."

God answers all prayers. Sometimes the answer is "yes." Sometimes the answer is "no." Sometimes the answer is "carry on."

However, Jesus DOES tell us to sell our most "valuable/needed/useful" items (their coat/robe/cloak in those days) to buy a weapon, if they do not already own one.
If God wanted is to trust in JUST him for our protection from the evil scum in this life, Jesus wouldn't have said this.
