Do you keep your ammo locked in a safe?

After seeing a news story about someone that was arrested and had over 1,000 rounds of ammo, my wife asked how much ammo I had. I told her that if I knew exactly how much I had, I needed to get more. Mine is stored throughout the house, shed, and truck. Oh, and I have a couple of extra loaded magazines on me now, if that counts.

A. Oh, and I have a couple of extra loaded magazines on me now, if that counts.

Only if it changes the totals in the first 3 significant digits :) Loaded mag ammo should be in the rounding error or you need more.

I only keep the hard to find stuff, like .35 Rem and .38 S&W in the safe :D

There's plenty of components if someone needs to assemble their ammo after a robbery. Good luck toting out that lead container though ;)

Nope. I keep it stacked in water proof containers in my basement.

Take those waterproof containers and submerge them into your neighbors pond, I hear it works really well lol

Bought more ammo today - went on the shelf with the rest.

I'll be very sad if someone stole my ammo. But dang, they'll have to work to haul it all out.

Box of 9mm, loaded magazine and loaded pistol in holster.
All the other ammo in bedrooms by caliber.

I keep mine up in ammo cans in a locked cabinet in my workshop. I mean I would if I had any! All my guns were lost in a tragic boating accident. Jus sayin...

Nope, ammo ends up in the garage, the guns in the safe inside. For those who might question my choice of keeping ammo in an unheated or air conditioned garage, well so did I, but it ended up in there and the longer it stayed, the less I worried. Last month I shot some skeet loads that I made in about 1988 - 1990 and every one went bang just right... So did the last box of a 5000 rd case of .22 target I got about the same time, along with some other odd and assorted leftovers circa the same time.
