What y’all know about the Dodge 3/4 ton trucks with the 5.7L Hemi? Found a couple that are very reasonably priced. Both crew cab and both 4x4.

How do these trucks hold up under heavy commercial use? Pulling 8-12K# trailers?

I don’t give two shits about gas mileage. I’m wondering how tough these trucks are.

I have 6 or 7 Fords, and we beat the shiznit out of them, and they just keep going. I’ve got a 2wd F250 I’m retiring soon, and considering a 2500 Dodge to replace it.

You're not towing 8-12k trailers with the 5.7. We have a 14 hemi. You can pull 10k but thats over the recommendation I know it can do it because we overloaded our on one haul. Everything about the 5.7s just aren't meant for that large of lbs.

If you're pulling heavy daily youll smoke that gas motor. Look for an older used diesel. Plenty of cummins around that will go for 100s of thousands of miles.

The 5.7 2500 is useless with any weight on it. If your going to be pulling any weight regularly go with a diesel. We had one as a work truck and I towed around 8k with it once. It couldn’t get out of its own way and struggled on any hills. Not to mention only averaged around 5mpg if I remember correctly.
