Does anyone, on this forum, load M855 with CFE 223?

I have searched the Hodgdon reloading website for information on loading SS109 projectiles using CFE 223. It does not exist. There is data for four different Accurate powders for the M855 loads. I have a couple of pounds of A2520 which I use for 6.5 Grendel loads. I would like to find a load for M855 using CFE223. They list loads for 62 gr. bullets but not the SS109. I measured a 62 gr. FMJ bullet at .804" long and SS109 bullets at .905" long. I'm thinking that I should start with the data for the 69 gr. Sierra HPBT round to compensate for the longer bearing surface.

I do, sub MOA for me, mind you the only one I have with CFE223. 18" Wylde match barrel, Win 223 brass, CCI 41, 27.1gr CFE223, 2.26 oal.

I will say, the weight for my m855 pulls are all over the place. I weighed every single one and only used the ones that were exactly 62gr. I also polished any green gunky paint, so they were all smooth.

For accuracy in 5.56/223 I've moved to 2520 or 8208XBR.

Thanks Clay. I will pick up a few more pounds of 2520 next time it comes up on the website. All my SS109 projectiles are new but I will weigh some to see if I find the same problem. I only use CCI 41s for AR 15 loads. My barrels are 5.56 chambers and I don't know how that compares to the Wylde chamber. Do you think 25.5grs. would be a good stating point?

Looking back at my notes, I started at 25 and went to 27 in .5 increments. 27 was the most accurate of that, so I then went to 26.3, 26.9, and 27.2. 27.2 was the best, so I then did 27, 27.1, .2 and .3. 27.1 nailed it, and I then repeated it.

Sounds very much like the way I zero in on a good load.
