Does anyone know of a brand of double rifle, hopefully .30-06, that is reasonably priced? I've wanted one for hunting and just to have, but they all seem to have an extra 0 in the price tag! Thanks

Baikal may be what you’re looking for.
Thanks. About $1,000+ is about a cheap as I can expect. I'm trying to avoid, and would not buy, $10,000, 20,000, 200,000. I don't know why they are so expensive. I think it's the high quality brands that I mostly see. Handmade, hand-engraved, walnut, etc.

You have to remember, in a double, both barrels have to be "regulated" to the same point of impact in relation to the sights. For a shotgun you might not notice as much. But, for a rifle caliber, that takes some hand work.

There used to be liners that were rifled inserts. They went into the shotgun barrels and converted the shotgun into a double rifle. They came in various calibers and barrel lengths. I don't remember if they were brand specific.

Eds gunshop in Vass had a Baikal double in 3006 posted 2 days ago. Give him a call.

Baikals do have a barrel regulator screw. Might not be adjusted perfect from the factory. I held a few when Remington was importing them. Was sure I had to have a 45/70. Once I got my hands on one changed my mind. Just did not feel like a solid rifle, though opinions may vary.
