Anyone have any experience with these? I’m looking at their 11.5in Duty Uppers and they seem to get very good reviews. Found a few threads on ARFCOM and the speculation is that their barrels are from BA. The MLOK rail that they use looks very solid as well.

Looked at them many times but never purchased due to cost. They’re a good value but because I am always on the lookout for deals, I’ve always been able to build it for less.

I agree that the barrels look to be BA.

One thing that bothers me is that they call them “complete uppers” yet they don’t include a BCG or CH. I’d say they’re “assembled uppers”. “Pet peeve” type gripe, I know.

That did kind of annoy me as well. The price seems very good for what you’re getting. I’m debating between picking one of these up, or if the BCM upper is actually worth $125 more.

Can’t say for sure but had a package from bcm just arrive today while weed eating. Just put it on a lower, still have to dress it up and zero later today.

Fyi- I had 2 separate orders placed with bcm last Wednesday. The USPS arrived Saturday and ups arrived today.

Good luck with your choice.

Not sure about exactly what they’re offering now, but they had a Black Friday deal years ago (maybe 2014?) where a ton of people bought 5.56 and 300BLK uppers for $399. Most all the reviews I saw were pretty positive.

Well I guess I’ll find out soon. Just ordered one. Seems like a great upper for $452 shipped.

I bought one of those Black Friday uppers, a 10.5" .300BLK & it's been a very solid piece. Maybe @rantingredneck can comment, as I believe he got the 16" .300BLK & has hunted with it pretty regular.

DSG gives a pretty solid mil/LE discount as well & frequently has good deals on optics & mags. I've been more than happy with all my dealings with them.

Yup. My DSG 16" .300 BLK upper has been quite accurate. Probably accounted for a dozen or so deer in the years I've owned it. It's my son's primary hunting rig now.

Not sure how it compares to their current line as it was part of a black Friday deal several years back and was assembled by Seekins Precision using their rail and gas block. Not sure the sourcing of the other parts.

I thought this too but like, a few weeks ago, I think I worked out the proper convention:

Stripped upper receiver: no dust cover or FA
Upper receiver: upper with dust cover and FA
Stripped upper receiver group: no BCG or CH but includes everything else (with or without rail could be debated).
Complete URG: er'thing ready to go on the lower and pew (minis irons or sights)

I looked at DSG a few years ago (ok 5 or 6)and no one knew their barrels. This was before BA so maybe they're using them now. I still think you can build one cheaper but sometimes DSG has some great sales or has blems.

Got it delivered today and put on one of my “pistol” lowers. I have to say, I am very impressed with this upper. Fit and finish is excellent, their rail is very nice feeling and has 5 QD attachments on it and the I’m pretty convinced that the Barrel is a BA. I think this is gonna be my new “go to” configuration.

That rail looks so much like an M.I. I had. I wonder if they source them from there?

Gun looks like a nice little package.

Looks like they just replaced the badging. Probably made by MI for DSG with DSG markings.

Its definitely an MI rail. I compared it to one on the MI site and they are identified, minus the markings of course.

Seems like a very solid hanguard.

While also being slim and lightweight. They put a lot of thought into the QD setup as well. I'm very happy with mine, though it's a 15" on an 18" barrel rifle.

Badass rig, right there.

The new MI rails have cut down on the number of QD slots. I am glad to know that DSG kept the 5 spots vs the 2 that are now on MI Combat rails!
