Dumb Question about smelting lead

I’m sure bullet casters would love to have it. Is it pure lead, do you know?

yes it is. Some of the weights have a plastic cover but can easily be cut away. Any resource to put a value on it?

Start at a dollar a pound. On eBay, you could probably get more, but that is offset by fees and shipping.

I’d be interested.

$1 per pound was what it was going for on the cast boolits forum pre pandemic. Probably not a bad place to start if you want to move it quick.

I have been paying .85 to $1 per pound for pure lead.
Scrap has been free for the most part to 25 cents a pound.
To the OP
Scrap lead as said will never bring 1$
If you were to process and clean it than maybe .50 to 1$

I'd be interested in a chunk of that.

Offshore fishing weights can often be a mix of lead & other stuff. To assure purity,, a lead analysis would be necessary. (That's not hard,, as there are a few places that can do it. A guy on the cast boolit forum offers the service, just for a small amount of lead.)

Is it marketable?
YES!

As Mr. Gadget has said,, scrap,, that hasn't been smelted, or purity is unknown is more often in the .50 cents per lb in general.
