finally dumping spectrum after their recent price jacking. What streaming services have you all tried? What are the downsides? I've read some of the threads that have this info, but I also watch a ton of sports that aren't on the big networks; can I still watch NHL hockey and Premier League soccer, for example?

Live TV subscriptions can be had through Hulu, YouTube, sling, Netflix, and some others. What are the notable differences?

And for internet service specifically available in Alamance county, anyone try one of the internet providers that isnt spectrum?

I use YouTube TV and Netflix. I've tried Sling, YTT, and PS VUE. Youtube streamed the best at my house - we can only get CenturyLink DSL where I am.

I would check out their channel lineups and make sure you can get the sports you want. In my view - the best part of the streaming services is being able to turn them on/off whenever I want. Since college basketball is over, I cancelled YouTube TV. When something comes on that I want to watch - turn it on again. No contracts to deal with.

We have internet and use a fire stick. No cable tv or satellite. We paid $15 per month while the got season was airing and now we’ll cut it off. Everything else we watch is on YouTube and prime. Good luck to you and good riddance to overpriced television.

There are quite a few free channels available on the Roku. I also subscribe to Netflix. I've also got a Plex media server with almost 1.5TB of movies, more added daily.

Roku, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime combined with a regular little batwing antennae here.

Haven't had cable in over 7 years and do not miss it one bit.

I used to have ATT DSL internet and it sucked worse than words could describe, at least in this part of the forum. They are currently laying fiber optic down here in LA-- that may be a lot better, but you would still have to deal with the world's worst customer service.
