So, me and a couple fishing buddies are going to Buxton on an annual drinking trip and we wanna grab some Eastern style on the way out. We're coming from Lexington (where the real BBQ is), so, whatcha got for us?

I think all the bbq in that area is crap. The black pelican in nags Head is rumored to be outstanding though if you decide against bbq. Try the orange blossom in Buxton for breakfast, they have decent breakfast sandwiches and great pastries.

I've had a couple places in reccomended in Williamston area. The Surfing Pig was decent in Chicacomonico. Man! Those freakin' apple uglies at Orange Blossom are redonkulous! We're staying just down the street from them.

If you do Facebook, you could probably get some suggestions from oregoninletidiots

If you think that way there is really no hope for you brother. Stop at B's in Greenville on the way if you want to get real BBQ pork. There is no such thing as "real" BBQ west of 95.

It's all about that hickory smoke! Y'all can't even make good slaw out that way.

B's rates a big "meh" from me. I will have Parker's if I'm looking for Q in Greenville.

The best thing about Parker's is the fried chicken.

Someone mentioned Bunn's and Shaw's to me earlier.
Those are both good places that have been around a long time.

[Commercial] While you are on the OBX, be sure to stop and check out my friends at the best fishing pier on the islands, Rodanthe Pier. http://www.rodanthepierllc.com [/commercial]

I've been going to the SOBX for years and have been a little scared of going there. I've heard stories of old of the locals not taking to kindly to outsiders. I try to mind my p's and q's when in someones elses house, though. I don't wanna be one of those "touron's", or at least not act like one.

Parkers in wilson yes Parkers in greenville a big No and the two are not connected. Greenville is part of a chain and grinds everything into their bbq, wilson one has been around a long time and town staple.

You are correct and anybody who thinks Parkers (G'ville) BBQ is better than B's is clueless. Family style at Parker's in Wilson is tough to beat. Those boys in the white hats just keep the good eats coming to the table.

Reckon there ain't no true carnivores here, then. I was born & raised in KS & barbecue was brisket & ribs. That said, there ain't a style of barbecue that I've tasted that I haven't loved. KC, Memphis, Texas, eastern Carolina, I love it all.

Haven't tried any of the mustard based barbecue, tho. Where can a fella go find some to try?

I must have gotten my Parker's mixed up.

Yeah, I talk smack, but I haven't met much Q that I didn't like as long as it's smoked. "If there ain't no smoke, it's a joke."

You could try Hardison's on 64 east (about 1/4 mile before you get to Mackey's gun shop). Family run place, good food, good prices. May be worth a try.
As many times as I have driven through that area I have never been to most of the places along 64. I should put this place on my list.

Harrison's has been there a long time, it is where they make their commercial products. Recently they have expanded their operation to include a restaurant. ( within the past year) .

I think I know the place you're talking about.

Maurice's in Columbia, SC. Good stuff.

I like Maurices sauce, but he is waaaay to generous with it on the Q he serves... if he would serve the pulled pork and let me dose it with sauce, it would be pretty good.

In Columbia, the best Q is Little Pigs, or Farm Boys in Chapin... at Farm Boys, thursday is pork chop day... thats where you will find me at lunch on most thursdays.

I am driving to Manteo on business Friday, I may have to stop and graze here!.

I stop in to Hardison's last week on my way to Manteo. Not the best eastern style Q but not bad at all. The ladies working there were super nice Eastern NC country gals. Got to like that. Made me feel right at home.
