Ok guys I bought my first grill about a month ago. Just a small Weber smoky Joe( it's just me and I don't entertain). I have cooked chicken and steak.

What are some easy, taste recipes to try? How hard is it to cook chicken wings?

Don't make fun of the size ( it's how you use it ;) )

Good choice on the Smokey Joe. Pork loin or tenderloin is nearly fool proof and easy. Put your charcoal to one side of the grill and put the loin on the side without the charcoal. Rub any seasoning of your choice beforehand. Put the lid on and go back in about an hour. Internal temp should be around 145-150. Let it rest a few minutes and enjoy.

I do my best wings on a 22" Weber with a Vortex. I've never cooked them on a smaller grill. I'll bet @Wahoo95 can offer some tips.

You really need @Geezer and @Wahoo95 to chime in here on the grilled chicken wangs and to further explain the fine art of Weber cookin'. I'm also planning to watch this thread for some good info to be added here.

Thanks for starting a great thread and topic here.

Play around with the relationship of the food to the fire. Pile the coals to one side & create 2 heat zones -- direct & indirect. You can sear the meat over the coals, thenmove aside & cover to slow down the cooking & add smoky flavor.

Put a tinfoil pan of water beside piled up coals to create moist heat when covered.

Get a smoker box, put wet wood chips in it, and place over the coals with meat off to the side. Orient the cover so the vents are over the meat, forcing the smoke to travel over it to get out. Fart around with the upper & lower vents to damp the fire or feed 'em more air.

The Smokey Joe is a great portable grill!! I love mine, but it is some rather tight quarters to cook on. I mostly use mine for searing sous vide items.

One book I've always found extremely useful for both techniques and recipes is How to Grill. It is well worth the $15

Enjoy playing with your meat and fire! It's a rather fun and gratifying endeavor. :D
