I’ve used them.
They are great.
You would need to either get a rider block or an AR without the giant sight post/gas tube combo

Tons of experience and not a fan of it at all. So many better options on the market that's a much better optic in every way. Sorry for everyone that owns them.

For you all who will point to SEAL's and SF guys with the optic in the sandbox just stop. It's a garbage optic and this is how I will prove it.
  • Set to 4x at 100yds and zero the etched reticle to poa-poi.
  • on 4x shoot a 5 round group.
  • Adjust illumination to ON and shoot again on 4x at 100yds a 5 round group.
  • Flip to 1x with illumination still on and shoot a 5 round group at 100yds
  • Turn off illumination, shoot a 5 rounds group at 100yds on 1x.

You will have 4 different shot groups, they will be up to 2-6 MOA apart. From EACH OTHER not in size, but in a shift away from the zero POI / POA group.

I looked at buying a used one some years back, at the time heard on the internet that you can’t get them serviced because servicing is in Canada and they are export restricted for us. Stupid of course because they are made in Canada, but that’s what I was told. My recollection was that you could get some service done here, but you couldn’t get them purged and sealed. Could have been wrong at the time, could have changed over time, but it’s one reason that I didn’t buy one.

Did not know that either. I'm surprised that they can get the monumental price for them if they don't consistently track.

That's crazy. So I guess they expect you to set it, and never make any adjustments to it once it is set, or it requires re-zeroing.

The end user "military" justification is this:

On 4x no illum the BDC tracks fine out to 650m on 10.3" and 14.5" systems. On 1x with or without illum its used less then 50yds and in the POI shift is lost in the mechanical offset hold off.

I have heard this justification more then 50 times and i just let it go. A person deployed with it, and now its the best to them.

Shouldn't have to work around your gear. It should stay put 100% of the time. Wouldn't make it to the top ten for me based off that information.

Vortex Razor with JM-1 reticle.

Spent money left over on H&B.

There was a phenomenal sale on the 1-6s HDs not too long ago. Wish I could get one locally for that price
