Eley Test Range

Always thought that would be neat to do also. Just could never come up with a good enough reason to spend all that money. Killough shooting is who I use to buy my Eley Target from. They use to sell it by lot numbers, but not any more. They still sell the higher cost stuff by lot # and when I purchase that stuff I buy from them. I have called them over the years and they have been very helpful. Great people to deal with.

Lapua has a similar facility in Arizona. Several years ago they offered testing on SK Standard, Lapua Center-X and Midas+ in a price range the average person could afford (~$75 for time and ammo but no requirement to buy case(s) of Center-X or Midas+). They have since changed their policy. While you can still test and buy SK as practice ammo, you now also have to test and buy a one case minimum of either Center-X or Midas+ at ~$1100. It's certainly doable and worth the money for a serious rimfire shooter, but a bit steep for the average enthusiast.

We have a 50 yard indoor range that is visited by "benchers" a lot. They can completely control their environment including turning off the fans to shoot. It is amazing to watch them shoot with the fans off and see the groups get bigger just from debris in the air.
We even had the Old Champ himself Humble Henry Rivers, come to shoot on our range. The only completely controllable 50 yard indoor range in the state to my knowledge.
Oh yeah.....it's free!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish I lived closer. Would love to try that out. I shoot a Anschutz 64sbr using front rest only and love it. I have never shot it indoors, but knowing what it can do outdoors and always a wind, I can only imagine what it would do on a controlled indoor range.
