Does anyone make a muzzleloading barrel for these in 45 or 50 cal with a 48 inch twist.

I sold the 1886 so looking at a hi wall or tc 4570 to replace it and the tc would be great to add a ml barrel for.

I want to shoot lrb and big lead slugs. No damn sabots. Lee Real 260s and tc maxies.

28 inch twist will be too tight a turn for hunting loads with lrb

Not to mention a 6 lb 4570 hiwall trapper or tc will be the berries to replace the boat anchor 1886

Ah well, conundrum now resolved. Confirmed the 1886 sold and found a new Uberti Hi Wall 4570 of similar weight but much better looks than the Win 1885 Trapper (16" trapper bbl looks a bit to just a lot goofy not even considering the vastly hideous front sight mount) or the TC Katahdin (probably uglier than even a chiappa rhino, though can't knock the quality and versatility). Plus it comes with scope base and free shipping and no credit card charges.....Win Win as I'll still get to build my muzzle loader from scratch using a Ruger 10-22 competition stock and a hand crafted steel box and side plate lock action.....now to decide if the muzzle loaders hammer shall fall forward towards the muzzle, traditional style, or fall backwards towards the shooter in a traditional Schutzen style.......decisions, decisions.....

Good call on the high wall. Looking forward to seeing this muzzleloader

I got all the steel. Mocked up the "action box" in wood and fitted it to a ruger 10-22 stock. Playing around with the notion of increasing the barrel length without increasing the overall length by lowering the height of the box and placing the breech of the barrel clean back at the back of the box. Gotta mock up a 15/16" octagon and see if a reverse hammer and all the action guts will lay in there without having to mill clearance cuts on the side of the barrel. I should be able to rotate much of the length of the actions guts down and forward perhaps only needing clearance for the bridle and tumbler. Or just place it traditionally with the breech at the front of the action box, hammer falling forward and guts behind in all the air space within the box.

Got another buffalo leather sling and a pair of them pretty engraved scope rings. Now to go fishing and then when I come back, see if the gun arrived.
