End of an Era

My condolences.

The death of an immortal is always hard.

And whether we realize it or not, our parents are immortal to us...when we're young, we never think of them as anything other than "always there". When we're older, we realize we're all mortal...but it never truly sinks in that our parents are, too.

May your dad live on in your hearts.

I am very sorry for your loss, and hope you find comfort in happy memories as time passes. Now you are the patriarch to build those memories for your loved ones.

Sorry for your loss.

Very sorry for you and the family. Keep busy and don’t be afraid to share your grief. Live the life he would have wanted for you. I pray you can find comfort in family this Thanksgiving.

My dad died last Tuesday and we had the funeral Saturday. He got to die and his home with his family beside him. I really thought I had prepared myself for this but it has been the hardest thing I have ever been through. Never knew that it was possible to feel so alone in this world.

Incoming Prayers.

Condolences to you and your family.
Your Dad's passing will leave a big hole in your heart.

Just before Christmas will be 34 years since my dad passed.I was 20 years old.His death was mercy for the condition he was in.
I wish he and my mother (died when I was 5) could have lived to see the two wonderful grandchildren they have.
Through all the disappointment, loneliness, and fear that was my childhood I choose to remember the good moments and the love that was given when he was capable.I strive every day to be a better father to my kids.
Time may not heal all wounds but for me it has allowed reflection and understanding.

My sincere condolences to all who are struggling with their loss.

Grief never ends… But it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith… It is the price of love.”
Best I've ever seen. I needed to see that today. I hope it helps you in this time of heartbreak. We are all thinking about you here today. Our world is smaller. Your Dad is now resting in the shade on the other side.

Very sorry for the loss of your Dad.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. They mean the world and have made the situation bearable.

It is not really something you can prepare yourself for. My dad died suddenly at home. I wasn't ready for it. My mom lived another 30 some years and died in a rehab facility. Took almost a month for her to go and I wasn't ready for that either. So you see we are never really ready to let them go no matter the circumstances. Prayers for you and your family.

Just remember:
“Grief never ends… But it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith… It is the price of love.”
