Pretty good video, but be aware the voice is VERY low and the music VERY high. Be prepared to play with the slider.

This is a topic I have been concerned about, and it is nice to see a relatively low tech way to overcome thermal imaging.

The intro song is AWESOME, as well. Anyone know what it is?

OK. I found the song. It is "YOUNG MEN DEAD" by Black Angels. WOW!

Like most youtube survival "how to" videos, this deals with worst case Mad Max fantasy. The current buzz word, "drone", is used to invoke the SkyNet fear.

I own RC multicopters and a thermal camera on one of my "drones". The reality is that air based thermal imaging is most easily defeated by terrestrial objects, like tree canopy. When I tell people I have eye-in-the-sky thermal, they think it "sees" creatures through cover; "can we hunt deer with it?" (SMH). I simply say "it's not X-Ray vision".

These apocalyptic videos can be very entertaining at times. If you fear drones and thermal, you fear me (now).

Allahu Akbar and by the beard of the Prophet! The infidels have discovered a FLIR system that only works against muslims! The wretched infidels have developed technology which only works against the faithful and will not paint a thermal signature for those within their fold who they deem "enemies." I must speak to my Imam about this.

Actually... if you (ahem) watched the video before commenting :) , you would see that very little of this is "drone" related. Most of the stuff has to do with IR scope and glass evasion on the ground.

I actually did watch it (painfully) and said in my response that "drone" was used as the attention getter; perpetuating ignorant negativism on a legitimate industry. To quote myself: "The current buzz word, "drone", is used to invoke the SkyNet fear."

Maybe try reading my response and post what firsthand experience you have with thermal imaging and its real capabilities or maybe you want a firsthand demonstration here, by me? I suspect I have more actual experience that's not just YouTube drivel. Pfft Let's drag out several thousand dollars of flying thermal to go deer hunting.

I don't know what some of you must think of yourselves to think you're important enough for the might of the government and the force of the US military to be brought upon you. I'm a nobody and plan to stay that way. Fear on.

I get it that you aren't much on thermal imaging from the air for deer hunting and that tree cover will frustrate that.

I also readily admit I am not much of a thermal imaging guy. I have owned one scope, which I still feel guilty for ripping off @Chdamn with (honest to God, it was an innocent mistake). I know almost nothing about the issue. So, I happily bow to your knowledge on the issue. There are many things about which I know almost nothing. MANY. What little I know on this one is summed up in the following: the US military thinks IR scopes and thermal imaging is useful stuff, since they issue them and openly boast that "they own the night" due to them. there are lots of dead guys in the middle east who owe their early demise to being spotted with these. I would like to have a way to hide, in the event that my wild paranoid delusions of "importance" come to pass....., like they did with LaVoy Finnicum, for example.

In the event you are laughing up your sleeve at this poor ignoramus who knows so little, please just indulge me in my fevered mind, full of wild imaginings that the black helicopters are sitting there with rotors turning, just waiting to come get me. Arguing with me about it just drives me deeper into my psychotic delusions. Just pat me on the head, smile, and send me on my way like you would a retarded nephew who comes into the Christmas discussion and interrupts the grown up discussion. I can't help it, you know. ;)

From what I have seen from my S department, I can guarantee they have FLIR.
The military are not the only ones.

Cops have FLIR too... That said, I don't know how useful that suit would really be. Only good here about a month of winter. The rest of the year, that suit will kill you faster than a drone from heat stroke...
