My mother was mowing this morning and apparently the deck belt broke. They had a replacement belt and tried to put the thing on. The last pully is a bit tricky as you pull on the belt and it is supposed to release the tensioner pully allowing you to get it on the last pully, which you can then spin to put the belt on. Well, I pulled on the belt and could not pull the tensioner. I am wondering if there may be something else wrong and that is why the belt broke. The interesting thing is that the mower was in the service center about a month or so ago and got a complete overhaul, so if the belt were in bad shape, I expect that it would have been replaced then, which furthers my wondering about something else being wrong with it.
The one thing I did manage to pull was a muscle in my back. A little bit later, I bent over slightly to get something out of the fridge, and it tightened right up on me and now hurts.
In any case, tomorrow morning I am going to take it to Carolina Power Equipment and let them put it on or figure out what is wrong. While I was on the ground trying to pull this thing, I looked at my dad and said, "If we keep going on trying this, someone is going to get hurt." Of course, my mother was mad because she just wanted to go mow and that wasn't going to happen.
