Any F3 devotees on here? I could see some on here enjoying it, been a few times and plan to stick with it. I like the mix of personal and group accountability.

@cubrock is trying to tell me I need to hit the boot camp at 28 degrees tomorrow.

There are a few near me. May have to check them out after the 10K.

At 55 and with cancer I have become much better at loving myself. 40 degrees is my hard deck.

When I was a younger, skinnier road cyclist that was my exact temper limit. I could gear up and ride at 40 and above, but screw it below that. I’ll hike and walk in any temperature though. But the wind when you are riding 20 MPH or so is no bueno.

I exercised in 0 degrees and 110 degrees, but no more. I joke about it, kinda sorta, but I think when I was in the hospital they broke my thermostat. I just don't tolerate cold like I used to, and that's been since I was in the hospital. I wear sweats and a hoody when it's 60.

I grew up in the cold snowy North and cold has never bothered me. Until now. I think I’m on enough blood thinners that I can get cold just by thinking about it. I built some big ass fires in the fireplace up in the mountains last weekend.

@Chuckman I’m the same way now. Flipped a switch like 6 months ago. Blood pressure seems down too so maybe it’s a circulation issue but the docs say my ticker is GTG. Now I’m always cold.

Also, @cubrock, damn you. You made me feel bad for doubting 30 degrees on the forecast but the weatherman lied. Warm up was tough at 22- 23 degrees on the water with my teeth chattering. Exposed skin didn’t have a lot of fun the whole time… Need a 4th layer for that temp.

Did you start taking BP meds? I’ve been trying to figure out why I stay so cold. Being the cheap stingy person that I am, I usually keep the thermostat around 65* in the winter. But I’ve been freezing lately.

We run in a park down by the lake only a mile from the house. Whatever the temp is in the driveway, you can bet it is several degrees colder once we get on the part of the trail down in the valleys around the lake. So, I've been there just like you.

But, you did it, as miserable as it was. Awesome!

@Average Joe no meds for me. May be related to crazy vegus nerve of mine, timing feels similar but that was late summer could also be coincidence. Never had high BP but I didn’t have low earlier but it’s on low side now.

@cubrock Amen, And you too. Good luck with the 10k. I’m trying to get back to just 2-3 miles a couple times a week, taking a year off for laziness makes for a pricey tab.

How long have y'all been doing it? March will be 9 years. Our AO has grown 400% since I started; I don't most of the guys now.

How gimped up and old can you be to still participate?
I am not quite the $6M dollar man but I do have several parts that I was not born with.

You get Respect at 50, double respect at 60. We have a bunch 50+ and one 60+. It’s do what you can, but they’ll encourage you to do your best.

I just started in Dec, but I’m sticking with it. Keeps me motivated and moving. It’s a big from what I understand, most mornings are 15+

I was 46 when I started, 55 now, in the beginning I was by far the oldest but now there are a lot of guys in the 50s.

The one piece of advice I have is make sure your AO supports what you want to do. For example some are running, some are rucking, some are straight up bodyweight exercises.

I started doing it January 2022 because my CrossFit gym was forcing months of mask mandates during COVID and I was sick of it......never went back to CrossFit......

Good program and no matter your fitness level you don't get left behind ...

I’ll bite….

F3????

Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith, a men's fitness group, peer-led.

When I started in Durham in March, 2015, it was extremely small, I think it was only in about three states, and in Durham it wasn't that big. It has since exploded, I think it's in every state now, gone international, Durham I think has over 1200 guys.

Workouts tend to be in the morning between 5:30 and 6:30, but that's not always the case. The workouts are always outdoors, and most of them are general fitness oriented but some are specific to running or other specific activities.

If anyone wants to come to the beach, F3 BruCo (Brunswick County) has a last Pax standing at 7 AM this weekend in Southport. Funds raised are going to the Luigi scholarship fund, a program ax who committed suicide before I started working out with the AO.

3 mile rock, and I believe 4 mile run starting at hour intervals.
