Seeking recommendations on a AR barrel for a long range build.

75gr/77gr SMK (mag length) will be the ammo used. No single loading.

Can anyone recommend an off the shelf barrel that has a shorter jump to the lands? I don' want a milspec, combat lawyer chamber.

I use ballistic advantage barrels. My SPR has 20" 1/8 with the 223 Wylde chamber. Stupid accurate with factory ammo. Will put Hornady black or their steel match 75gr in almost the same hole at 100yds when I do my part.

I know Rainier’s barrels have a “Rainier Match Chamber”....wonder if their CS would know the answer. I’ll shoot them a question and see. I had gas port questions they answered really quickly one time

@Slacker unless you don’t want to use Tipped bullets, the 73gr ELD-M bullets are cheaper than SMKs and I’ve had great results

Will the ELD-M'S go mag length?

73gr will. 75gr will not

I’ve loaded up to 24.0gr XBR 8208 with 73gr with no pressure signs but 22.6-22.8gr has shown the best results; im about to start playing with seating depth next, as well as RE15 which is my normal go-to

I saw some amazing results loading long and single loading in my AR.
I figure if I can get a barrel that is short chambered, I can get the same results from mag feeding.

I’ve posted some pretty tight groups from both the 73gr ELDM and 77gr TMK

Don’t make me post them (again) I hate showing off :D

@Slacker

Scott with Rainier’s technical support replied with the RMC being a decreased distance to the lands versus a standard 5.56 Chamber but didn’t specify the exact difference between the two.

I have a White Oak Armament 223 wylde SPR barrel on the way. I can load a 77 smk to the lands and see where it's at
