Will be watching this thread with interest.

I think, between Larry and a few more regulars here to help, shooting should be just fine. I will have the Cooper version of El Prez set up, and the Cooper version of the Steak House. Also, the Hackathorn 1,2,3 and The Wizard.
We can take..tents..pull along campers...motor homes....helicopters....and small planes, if you can land on a dirt 400 foot runway.
Bring your "show off" guns and leather.I know this may seem a little pre-mature but I hope we can get together and I'm sure we will have a grand time. At 70, the memories of friends gathering in the past brings me great joy. Bring lotsa ammo, we'll have a time. All of you have Larry to thank for this and I'm SURE he could use some help as the time grows near. Contact him with any ideas or helpful hints. This should answer all the questions up 'til now.

My charm and humbleness are my strongest traits, much stronger than my organizational skills. With your help and suggestions we can make this a memorable event. We still have plenty of time to work on this and I'd like to be able to nail down a specific date as quick as we can so everyone can plan accordingly.

Billy mentioned having the food covered. But, I know that many of our members are awesome cooks and grillers. If there is some interest, maybe someone will want to bring their grill and/or cooker and show off their skills. Also, since Billy is furnishing a very nice facility, a covered dish might be in order, too. But, this is something to talk about a little later.

So far, there seems to be a lot of interest. I'm sure that we can pull this off and have a big ol' time down here in Horry county.

<< I'm definitely interested but need to check for conflicts with family travels.

Catfish, we will miss you if you can't make it, BUT it's 8 MONTHS away. Put this down now and let the other unplanned stuff fill in around this.
I'm good to go! I explained the situation to my nephew and he happily moved his wedding date up to Oct. 6th.

Ill sweeten the pot, for the winner of these drills. Not sure what, but Ill come up with something

@Geezer

I'll ponder on it and see what I can think of.

Keeping my eye on this. As of now, I plan on being there. I'm thinking about starting a new job and not sure what my work schedule would be.

@BatteryOaksBilly has graciously offered to host a Carolina Firearms Forum Meet & Greet at Battery Oaks this fall. He is located in Conway, SC just a few miles inland from Myrtle Beach. Here's his post in another thread in case you missed it.

Tentatively, let's get it out there and start planning for a weekend in October. As for now, we will look at either October 13 & 14, 20 & 21, and 27 & 28. Yes, it's a long way off but we all know how fast time slips by. By talking about it now, some of you can start working on spouses to plan a beach vacation with a little side trip for you. So, if you think you'd like to come to the coast for a weekend at Battery Oaks, let us know.
The 27th& 28th would not be a good weekend for me, the other weekends look good

Can we bring suppressors? Tax stamped and all paperwork in order.

Absolutely, if you are comfortable crossing state lines with them. Glad you brought it up, ALL weapons systems are welcome with your paperwork in hand.

No permission slips needed for suppressors. (Or AOWs). ;)

I'm hoping you put the responsibility on us to be compliant? And you're not actually checking all the Forms, or wanting to hold on to them or make copies? I know how a lot of us feel about the whole process, and was curious how it would be handled.

Billy will need to address this but, I do know everyone will have to sign a waiver to release Billy from any liability. Everyone that shoots there signs one. Hopefully some of our EMT members will be in attendance so we can have any emergencies covered. And, I'm guessing that the number of people wanting to shoot will influence the decision, too.
It's still early and a decision will made in plenty of time for everyone to plan accordingly.

I'm a medic, and also have a ton of time in as a Rangemaster. If I'm not working I can hang..

Meeting up with some awesome gun owners here at the Myrtle Beach Gun Show this weekend......Any and all that can come drop by our tables are welcome. We're along the back wall right beside the Battery Oaks table and @BatteryOaksBilly . Photos of three of the guys are from left to right: @Geezer , Battery Oaks Billy, and @toucan.

Come check us out and take a peek at the autobiography of Billy. He's giving away copies of it to forum members that drop by the table today and he has led a very ......interesting ........life !

(psst: Trust me on this autobiography.......It's a short story! Pics of the midget legend below........seriously....he's standing.....hahaha.....I can't wait to take him to Chad's. lol )

Big, I am the least officious human you know. Let's try to get ahead of the curve on all the "what if's". I expect everybody to be law abiding Southern Gentlemen when you come through the gates...Period. I am sure there will be several law enforcement folks among us. Treat my place just like it's yours and everything will be great fun. Bring any platform you have from .17 to 50 BMG. Suppressed or not. As much fun as I am sure everybody will have, it won't be fun enough to chance breaking the law. Folks with class 3 platforms are far more likely to do the right thing. So, come on, bring what you know is OK, and we'll have big fun.

Be sure to order your official CFF name tags, avoid the rush!

These work good.
Years and years ago, me & a couple of the other boys put on a mountain meet greet and shoot. This was before Daryl had the official name tags.
We had about 40 show up. So I took a roll of masking tape and a sharpie, and went around and wrote everyone's screen name on some tape and put it on their shirt. A few thought it kind of silly...a version of "Hello I'm _____"
I insisted.
The result? Everyone talked to everyone!
What happens in larger groups is folks have a tendency to klan-up. Break off into little groups of 3,4,5 people they know.
I wasn't having that.
After I ID'd them, all the ice was broken, it was all handshakes and hugs, and no-one went home and said, "I didn't know you were there!"
Plus, they all got to throw me under the bus for the silly name tags.

Masking tape and a sharpie. Worth every penny. :D

We hope to have a date nailed down very soon. Maybe we can announce a date next week.

Got to meet Billy, Geezer, DLam, and Garvin today. Great bunch of guys, and Billy's place is Very nice. If you have to cancel a wedding to make it out this October, you should do it, lol. I got to run the Wizard drill, and the ATM drill, all under a timer, and man, I could tell I haven't put any pressure on myself in awhile. Took a little to get in the groove. Anyway, this will be a awesome place to get together, put a face to a name, and have a blast. Also a big thanks to Billy for having me out today.
