Squid Lips in Melbourne Florida. On Pineapple Ave. As you're driving across the Eau Gallie Causeway westbound towards Melbourne, after crossing the river, take a right on Pineapple Ave. and go about two miles or so.

Best Sea Bass you'll ever eat.

The BBQ Center , Main St. Lexington , N.C. Family owned since the 1950,s , cooked over wood , meat has flavor , don't have to cover it with a bunch of hot pepper sauce , taste is like BBQ was back in the '60's , Also their Banana Split will feed 4-6 people , for real..

Dairy-O's and also King's Hot Dogs.

For upscale eating, Husk in Charleston is by far the best. Sean Brock does something really special there with local Southern ingredients and dishes.

I’m just as happy eating at Fuller’s here in SE NC, though. Haven’t made it to the new Pembroke location, but I sure miss the one in Lumberton. Joe’s here in Whiteville is good too. And Dale’s here and in Tabor is awesome. Dockside in Calabash is my favorite for seafood though.

I ate at Sunnyside Oyster bar in Williamston a couple weeks ago. Third or fourth time I’ve been there now. Absolutely fantastic place! Found them on Yelp by accident one night when I got into town and was looking for something to eat.

Anyone been here?
Beasely's in Raleigh.
Any place that has Carolina Reaper on the menu can't be bad.

I just had a meal at Mac's Breakfast Anytime in Aberdeen, NC.

The country fried steak was very good. Everything else was ok, but it puzzles me why places seem to be getting away from seasoning the food.

On OBX, back in 2015 my wife and I went to Dare Devil Pizza. That was very good.
Love breakfast at Nags head pier.
Bob's Grill is decent too. Good prices. The owner is actively involved. Can't help but trust a place when the owner will also go out and clean tables when it gets busy.

You lost me at "up scale." :D:D:D

Fuller's in Lumberton had chittlins on the buffet. It was always fun to get someone to try the "chicken and pastry" just to watch their nose climb back into their face on that first bite. :D:eek:

Joe's BBQ in Whiteville is fair. The only BBQ place with a buffet that doesn't serve BBQ. You have to purchase it separately. Therefore, I don't eat at Joe's. The little buffet place across the street is far better, and a whole lot cleaner. Dale's in Tabor is good but at the Dales in Whiteville it is a lot easier to place an order. Since everything is fried in the same grease it all tastes the same. Fish, shrimp, oysters, hushpuppies all taste the same so it doesn't matter what you order. The Dale's at Lake Waccamaw has them both beat. Don't know why but it does.

The Chef and the Frog in downtown Whiteville has some right decent Pad Thai.

I always thought of The Sanitary as a tourist trap, but village market in EI is really great.

Well it kind of is but the place goes back to the 40's so it has a history at least it wasn't started as a trap unlike other places. Village market is good too.

Sean Brock is a brilliant young chef. I hope to get down to Charleston soon before he moves on to his next venture.

He’s got a Husk in Nashville, Greenville SC, and Savannah now too. He also has McCrady’s and McCrady’s Tavern in Charleston, and a Minero in both Charleston and Atlanta. Dude definitely has his hands full.

I also frequent Wingman in Carrboro. Their Cajun Wings are addictive.

Based on the what's for dinner thread we should all be visiting some fellow members tables. I've seen at least 6 or so members that create food as good as most restaurants. Maybe we need a CFF food rodeo!

@Geezer and @Chdamn , @Chdamn's Wife , and I ate lunch at SidWills on Main Street in Jamestown today. Tiny little hole in the wall place that I never knew existed until Chad recommended it. Wow. I’m not a fan of meatloaf. Never have been. I was told if I didn’t like the meatloaf I’d be reimbursed for my lunch. It was awesome. I highly recommend checking that place out if anyone happens to be rolling through Jamestown.

Yes, an awesome little gem that's hidden away.

Basil Leaf serves among the best Thai food I have eaten in NC.

Anybody here tried Cowboy in Cornelius? Opened in March I think. Owned by the guy that owns 131 Main (and Tenders, which became PDQ).

Beef brisket (lean, fatty, or mixed), chicken, steaks...as baskets, platters or even some tacos. Fries, Mac & cheese, baked beans, Brunswick stew, collard greens, and some other options as sides.

We went recently for my birthday. I got a filet (served with horseradish) and wife got brisket (at my request) so we could share. Son got a 1/2 chicken. Dad got brisket tacos and his wife got a salad of some kind. Also grabbed a slice of apple pie and some banana pudding to share.

Place advertises as no freezers, always fresh. Weird part was you ordered at the counter and then chose a table. Not weird for most food...but it was the first time I've had a filet that way. Everything we tried was pretty dang good. Wasn't a big fan of the beans, but that was about it. Snagged one pic of my plate:

Got any additional info on which service station? Is it over where Catawba ends?

Not sure of the name of the station but it’s green like a BP station. It’s on the left one quarter mile past Birkdale Commons and Birkdale shopping headed toward Lincoln County.

That was my guess. I think it's still a Cashions, right at the light where Catawba comes in. I've seen the guy there cooking, but never stopped to eat. Where the green arrow is pointing, right?

Yes, that’s it. That and a Cold Mountain Winter Ale is heaven. My daughter lives in Birkdale Commons and is looking to buy a house in Huntersville. Houses are selling in 24 hours and above asking sometimes.

I put this here because I didn't cook it. I don't eat at cafeterias that often but today, I ate lunch at J&S Cafeteria in N. High Point.

This is what I had for lunch:

I'm not sure if it was smoked Kielbasa and Sauerkraut or some other kind of smoked sausage and Sauerkraut, but whatever it was, it needs to be it's own food group because it was incredibly delicious.

Oh yeah @Qball , I love me some sauerkraut and smoked sausage. My wife tried it once long time ago and still talks about how bad it was. I fix it for myself every now and then. Cornbread goes well with it.
