It's been years since I last attended this show. What's the layout like? I know assuming is never good but are there good finds? Worth a 2hr trip?

When full, it is is a 400-ish table show. Anymore, it is typically 300-350 tables. I have made some good finds here, but, like all gun shows anymore, you have to work a lot harder for them. I have bought some very rare milsurps here. With Fort Bragg nearby, the area has decades of cool stuff coming back from war zones and overseas bases, and some of that stuff trickles into the show. I have also bought a few preban AKs here over the years. Usually, the cool stuff walks in with the public rather than being on tables.
There is the typical mix of new gun dealers, some used gun dealers (like myself - we specialize in collectibles, estate and collection buyouts, etc.), some private sellers, one big book dealer is usually there (he carries some great gun references), holster dealers, ammo dealers, and, unfortunately, the flea market stuff is there, too.
A fair amount of Marines drive down from The Jax area. They all report it is better than the show there. If you do come on Saturday, the area has a lot of gun shops, so you can hit those, too, if you time it right. Whether the trip is worth it, I can’t promise you one way or the other. It is like fishing - you can catch a trophy or get skunked, or anywhere in between.
