Last year, Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered federal prosecutors to “swiftly and aggressively” pursue cases against people who are prohibited from having firearms and lie on a federal form to pass the background check. This is a significant turn-around from the previous Administration. Prosecutions are up 23% in just a year.

It is about time. All the years I worked in a gun store I can not count how many times some one would fill out the paper work knowing that they where not suppose to own a gun but would try any how. Or would try and get their wife or friend to purchase it for them. Not once did I ever see the atf or law enforcement bat a eye unless weeks after a gun was released for them taking to long on the checks and then going oops we better go get that. They only cared after it was used in a crime.

I'm not impressed by an increase of several hundred in prosecutions for all types of possession.

Show me prosecutions of the more than 4K prohibited persons who annually buy guns from FFLs and law enforcement has to "retrieve" those guns.

Or show me prosecutions of the more than 100K prohibited persons who fill out 4473s falsely but are still denied.

Or show me prosecutions of the unknown number of prohibited persons who fill out 4473s showing they are prohibited, but FFLs are prohibited by ATF/FBI from even submitting those applications to NICS.

Wow, the Feds are increasing the enforcement of unconstitutional laws. Someone enlighten me as to why this is a good thing.

Once again, because we can't actually hang them. You don't have to like it. But you have to understand it. It's a huge part of the problem.
