...by an old commie POSP.

First time in about 15 years of shooting that this has happened to me. Kinda silly circumstance, but I'm just glad I wear eyepro. Even so, I cut and drew a bit of blood just below my lower eyelid, and I'll have a minor shiner tomorrow morning.

Beautiful day for some shooting otherwise. Y'all be safe out there!

Glad the eyepro saved you worse damage but we need better details on what happened. How am I supposed to learn what not to do if others more experienced don't share?

Well, my "what not to do" moment is what most kids with responsible parents, and even those brand new to guns know not to do ... keep your finger off the trigger! And when it is on there, practice good discipline.

Embarrassingly, I performed an unintentional double tap after a just-fired hot cartridge ricocheted and wedged itself inside my shirt. It spooked me and as I jerked I squeezed off another round. Stupid me. Thankfully, I was the only one on the range.

Happens all the time to me bench rest shooting with BR stocks and BR slick front and rear bag. Did it at Butner shooting Fopen prone with my 284Win and drew blood. Wiped it off and got it to clot. Then did it again. Dumb ass. Didnt have the stock set up right.
