A while back I asked @Wahoo95 about a couple different smokers to buy, and he told me to just buy a Weber Kettle.

I'm super impressed. Stacked the charcoal all around the edges (snake method) let her get up to temp and she's been purring along for 3 hours at 260* on the button.

Got a pork picnic sitting on it now, with hickory, and it smells amazing. This is my first smoke, and it seems to be going amazingly so far.

You got a Weber kettle and coaching from @Wahoo95 , you're on your way to some good eating. We like pictures.

You're gonna be a very happy person and make others happy along with your efforts to learn the "Weber Way" of cooking. It takes things to a whole new level and it's amazing how many things you can do with that style of charcoal cooking.

There's a reason that you see @Wahoo95 's user name on the cooking forums as well as shooting forums. His posted content and experiences have helped quite a few people. I'm just one of those.

I picked up a new Weber a few months back to jump start my charcoal cooking interests. My family is enjoying that decision.

Oh boy, welcome to the "other" addiction! Do you have an instant read thermometer? I prefer the Thermapen but honestly I have a Walmart therm and it actually works just fine for a 10th the price. It takes a couple secs to read accurate but that's doable for the cost. Anyways, the key to cooking that pork right is hitting the internal temp....195-200 which is when it becomes fall apart tender

The weber kettle is the Glock of the grilling world. It's probably the most versatile cooking tool you could own. You can grill on it, smoke on it, and even bake on it. Get with Geezer for tips on baking as he takes it to another level that I've yet to achieve.

There is a lot of information at https://tvwbb.com/forum.php. Careful, though... @Wahoo95 wasn't kidding when he said "the other addiction". As for an instant read thermometer I have a Thermopop (the Thermapen's little brother) and I like it a lot. If you go to the Thermoworks web site and sign up for emails you can get info on their frequent special sales and save a few bucks.

Cooking with indirect heat makes the kettle an oven, too. @Wahoo95 , quit wasting time and throw a cobbler together. You'll be glad you did but unhappy that you waited so long.
Here's today's supper.

I would give up my gas grill long before I give up my weber. Enjoyed it greatly since I picked up one couple years ago.

Looks like your off to a good start to a new addiction.

Ok give it up....what did ya do with the taters? I want to try that
They are called Hasselback potatoes. Make slices but not all the way through. I brush with olive oil and sprinkle on some salt and pepper, getting in down inside the slices. Right before they get ready to come off, I sprinkle some cheese and chives on top.
What's wrapped in the foil...onions?

Yes, that's my onion with beef bullion cube. It had been a while since I had fixed them and they were awesome.
