Finland to open 300 shooting ranges to improve national defense

Strange, they want to train civilians to defend the country should russia get frisky, and yet:

It was noted that the amount of applications for gun licenses has dramatically increased.

gotta pay for the privilege for some reason.

Where are they gonna find 300 FUDDS to RO those public ranges? How’re they gonna keep shots down to 1 every 10 seconds and tell me what I’m doing wrong without importing a stock of Barneys to run the places?!

They have no choice but to find 300 FUDDS to keep the closet Rambo's from shooting themselves in the foot. 🤣

The Tacticool Man sees only problems.

The Wise Fudd sees an international business opportunity.

We just returned from Finland a couple of weeks ago. Incredible scenery especially in the North. Time spent in Helsinki was more of a learning experience about the people and history. We met a Jewish fellow, actual dual citizen Finland/Israel........ Very much into shooting and owned rifles/handguns. Seems there is a process of course, and not easily done, heavy regulated, but not impossible. I don't have a good feel of course for the details, but just some basics. They do get heavily taxed, very heavy, and there was even a protest shutdown one day of business and government agencies/transportation and such because of the government wanting to add more taxes for something or other.............

Having traveled many places in the world, there is and never will be any place like home, and in particular the great free state of South Carolina. In our current times, I am very happy to be in South Carolina.

I'm sure my son's aviation unit will head overseas by this time next year if not sooner - with Scandinavia now 100% NATO and Russia posturing vs the Baltics Northern Europe now seems as likely as anywhere.

And I thought Reagan won the Cold War . . .

And besides, there might be perks.

Finns are hot. I know, I am one. ;)

They are not like the rest of Scandinavia. In fact they really aren't like anyone else. Fiercely independent, strong willed, really distrusts most other countries. HATES Russia.

When my Finnish relatives found out I was marrying a gal with Swedish background (wife's grandparents were Swedish), they had something to say. It wasn't nice lol.

Weird gun laws. A lot of hunters, and very pro-armed for defense though.
