Has anyone noticed all the fireflies out? And that they are all at the tree tops? We have hundreds out in our yard tonight. So cool to see, but seems quite early (but definitely warm enough)
We noticed them Sun night all over the place, from 100' up to the ground. IHas anyone noticed all the fireflies out? And that they are all at the tree tops? We have hundreds out in our yard tonight. So cool to see, but seems quite early (but definitely warm enough)
I remember those CO grasshoppers! Taught me not to ride bareheaded or with my faceshield up no matter how hot it was...i just rode 100mi through the prairie on my motorcycle and not a single insect on my face shield.
This thread reminds me of many a childhood lightning bug murder sprees with a badminton racquet in my youth.
My oldest son, at around 5 years old, collected a jar full of lightening bugs and proceeded to smear them all over his face so he could glow in the dark.
