FireWood Therapy

Agree pickaroon is great tool for the back but just like other sharp tools watch other limbs in close proximity when setting it. I Have had one glance off wood a time or two causing some near misses and heard other peoples stories of not missing and wasnt pleasurable.

Roger that! Kinda reminds me of a Viking axe…helluva battle weapon 👍

I've been splitting and heating with wood in one form or another for 45 years.
Just installed a vintage Craft 4830 stove in my basement fireplace. Did some design work and engineered some modifications to plumb some stove ductwork into my house ductwork.
The house heater has not been on in over a month. The basement & upstairs average 68-72° depending on how hard I fire the stove.

(1) HF carpet blower runs the whole thing on a single 110v outlet. My power bill this month was a tad over $43.00. More $$ to put towards gun stuff!

Great idea!

@Hashknife Did you just tap into a return with the wood stove pipe? Add any dampers or just plumb in? Been thinking about doing something similar for years just never did it.

The stove is equipped with a damper from the factory. It slides back and forth to cover the rectangle exhaust port.

The stove has a 10" x 16" rectangle "exhaust" port at the back of the unit. I fabbed and welded up a transition to allow mounting to a 6" chimney liner to the stove.

Due to angles and clearance issues, I ended up having to use a 0-90° adjustable elbow to connect the stove to the chimney liner.
