First I hit a gator on the highway...

Nice, gentle giants. I kept a Sheriff boat from running over a baby in the Wiki Watchi river about 10 years ago. I called him very bad names but he seemed to take it fairly well and didn't arrest me for assault on a PO.
 
I miss diving with them at Blue Spring State Park. As with most things a few morons ruined it for all. Can’t dive there now when manatees are present. They’re very curious of humans and would “snuggle” all over you when you sit down to put on your fins.

I did manage to piss one off once in a canoe. Tried to catch up to it and touch its flipper. It didn’t like that one bit and gave a flick of its tail comparable to a blue whale! Damn near flipped me and left me for dead!

Awesome seeing those animals up close and in the wild like that, really cool!
 
I’ve kayak in waterways adjacent to the beach with manatees but never been in the water with them. They come up to the boat to see what’s happening. With all the boats in Florida buzzing around it’s surprising they even exist.
