After long consideration, I have decided to switch from carrying a LC9 daily to a 442. For many reasons, I am more comfortable behind a revolver, and I like the overall feel of carrying one more. Not to mention, they are just truly badass.

Not a bad choice! I also have a 442 that I carry on days where I need to be a bit more incognito than usual. I carry mine in an ankle holster or just in a simple pocket holster.

Yep. If you need more than 5 during a SD shoot in 99% of the SD situations facing most Americans, then you're gonna need Johnny Cochran to be resurrected to be on your defense dream team. At least til Boogaloo time. Then it's Draco 7.62 to the rescue.

FWIW I love the 442, but carry a 637-2 with Gold Dot +p, and I never feel undergunned. Of course I shoot it every week.

Yea, I have already had to answer the question as to what if I need more than 5. I believe I read on here that most SD encounters last about 3 seconds and use 3 rounds. I was also eyeing the 340PD, but couldn't justify the extra coin at this time.

I can't justify .357 in anything lighter than an SP101. Es no bueno. I like it out of my 686 however :D

Yea, with how light the 340PD is, it has to be more difficult to put consistent shots on target. An SP101 may be my next purchase, or possibly the Kimber.

Everyone I know that bought the LCR in .357 has either switched to .38+p in it or sold it. And it soaks up recoil better than the J-frame Smith.

Although my primary is a Glock 43 I carry my 642 quite often. My ONLY reason for not carrying it more is I havenā€™t found a good holster for it yet. I donā€™t like pocket carry so IWB or OWB is best. Any suggestions? Right now I use a Don Hume

I use a Remora. I can carry the airweight in a Remora in workout pants or shorts and not even tie the drawstring.

I've given 442 to granddaughter and daughter. I've got an extra one for me. Great winter time gun. So what if the Carhart jacket has a hole in the pocket. You don't give up the element of surprise, just pull the trigger and get things moving.

Dillon, for ease of carry and use you made a wise decision. Simple point and shoot defense.

I carried an SP101 .357 2.25" for years in a Kramer pocket holster as my deep concealment (behind enemy lines in MD). Sadly, I came to the conclusion last year that I could no longer shoot it well. Gladly, another member here now has it and I hope is enjoying it. Wheel guns rule.

I've carried a 637 IWB Appendix for close to 20 years. I've tried other platforms and holsters and positions but all things considered it's the most comfortable for me. Never have to think about dressing around the gun. If my shirt is tucked in it goes on my ankle or in my jacket pocket.

We have a few members that make leather and kydex holsters.
If you're looking for owb leather, send @chiefjason a message.
If you're looking for iwb kydex, @rantingredneck is the man for you.
Both make a quality product. You will not be disappointed.
