Well, I went! And did kind of a brilliant job, if I say so myself!
I got in as soon as they opened, got 2 boxes of .380 and a couple of different targets, and got down to business.
It was hot (again!) but only one other person was in there. I was in and out and paid up by 9.45!
I shot up both boxes and had a ball. Pics to follow...you know it takes me awhile to do them. Lol.
Another range guy took a pic of my target outside and texted it to coach Tony. I think he'll be proud!
Thanks for all the support you all have given me, too!

Edit: pics posted below...I think!

See? Now wasn't that fun!

Nicely done @Millie. Bet you can't wait to get out there again :)

Feels good to get out and shoot some rounds, huh? Nice job, keep at it.

Awesome job Ms. Millie!

I know how you feel about the "every day" thing...if only!

One thing to keep in mind, since you were also asking questions about buying in bulk...
1 time per week = 52 times per year
Average it down to 45 times because we sometimes miss things...

45X2 = 90 boxes of shells

90X50=4,500 rounds per year!

Lets round down to 4,000 because some months you will go less, and some months you will shoot more.

So you need 4,000 rounds of ammo per year to just shoot as you are: (Prices from Outdoorlimited.com)

4,000 of low cost (but not lowest) .380 is 220 per case for Lawman: So, after shipping, around $950 per year in ammo.

Which for .380 is good, hats around $11 per box. If you buy it from Walmart or Academy you may get it for around $15 per box. At a cost savings of $3 per box, we are talking $240 per year. (80 boxes per year X $3-4= 240/320)

That's why we "hoard" ammo...we buy it as cheap as we can ahead of time, and some of us here shoot FAR more than 100 rounds per week...Id wager some folks around here to around 5k rounds per month or more. Then...we get into the need to reload...which may come one day for you.

You don't have to be perfect, just better than the other guy. Center mass will usually get the job done. Just keep having fun, listen to your trainer and you'll get better.

My trainer has helped me a lot in just a few lessons, so I'm going to keep on with those, and do some shooting alone and with buddies, having fun each time!!
What could be better than blasting away at targets first thing in the morning? A nice way to get the adrenaline going.

Agree. I am a bit perplexed because my Marine buddy doesn't want to get up and get to the range by 9. WTF kind of Marine is that? I give him mucho crap. And then send him target pics later in the day. Love getting stuff done early. Especially fun stuff. Makes the whole day better.

If I can get to the range by 9, anyone can! I'm a night person usually, but here lately I've been up during the day, so your buddy really needs to get sorted out, I think! Lol.
I thought Marines got up at like 5 am. He must be retired, right? That's gotta be it.

No, just had a rough year or so. Gotta get him back to being a badass. Last weekemd was a good start. We did a lot of tree cutting and hauling and it kicked out ass's. He was motivated to get more fit the next day.

I'm sorry your friend had a rough year, and I'm sure he's still a badass, so don't tell him I was ragging on him!! (Though he'd probably not kick an old lady's ass. I'm sure he's too nice to do that!)

Congratulations, Millie. Going solo is a magical moment in time. I am enjoying your journey into this sport and your passion for learning. Keep it up.
Thanks! It was a pretty incredible morning, I have to say.

I do love being a student, and I haven't had any "accidents" with a gun so far, which some here thought I might! I did ask some really dumb questions early on, and still probably do...but it's what I do!! Lol. How else am I gonna learn stuff, right?

Bravo Millie! Pretty soon my goal will be to train at least as much as you do. :)

I think 3 range visits in the span of a week was a bit much, but I had fun! I can probably afford 3 a month....maybe.

And I'm pretty sure you guys are trained perfectly well, you just want to go to the range! (I get that now!)

Going to the range is addictive. Shoot safe, shoot often.

I'm already trying to see when I can do my next lesson....but somewhere in there I have to give the house a good scrubbing for TGiving visitors!

PS...the first cleaning (since buying it used) of the Sig just happened and I have to say, it was a tad painful! But I got the slide lined up finally and the parts out and cleaned it up. It was really dirty! I'll find out next range day if I put it back together properly, but all the parts seem to be working.
Now I'll go wash the dishes so my hands can have some hydrotherapy and feel better!

Millie.......you are now over that line on the slippery slope........going to the range by yourself.......no stopping you now.

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was fun Right?

Very much fun!
Yes, I can see that I might be a "gun person" now! Lol.

Nice shootin @Millie keep up the good work. Reminds me I need to get out and sling some lead myself.
If I had the funds, I'd probably go 5 times a week! Lol.
I'm already setting up my next lesson with my "coach"....
(I really hope Publishers clearing house sends me a ton of money!)

I'll keep telling you, learn to reload. You will not save money. You will shoot more.

No! Lol. I'm great with a knife in a kitchen, but that won't (usually) explode! I am not going to start trying to put stuff together that can!! If you knew me, you'd be thankful I'm not trying to learn how to do this stuff!
