I wasn't going to buy a Glock 44 just yet but a friend bought one and decided he didn't want it before he even fired it. So, I bought it from him.

First time to shoot it was today. I loaded up both mags with CCI Mini Mags because that's what the internet said to use in it. The first 2 magazines ran flawlessly and accuracy was good. Here's the first 2 mags, shot off hand at 12 yards.

OK, it works pretty good with CCI ammo. But the internet says bulk and cheap ammo won't run in the new G44. Well, let's see. I have a bag of a mixture of 22 LR that I shoot in revolvers and bolt action rifles. There's Winchester, Federal, and Remington in there.

I am happy to report that you can't believe everything that you read on the internet. The G44 ate all of the ammo without a problem. I shot 200 rounds of the mixture. Every round fired, ejected, and fed just like it's supposed to. It was funny because there noticeable differences in the sound of some of the rounds but, the Glock didn't care.

the more I see these positive real range reports, the more I want one.
And I admit for the record, I did bash Glock for releasing a.22:oops:

Can I try it out next time I'm there? (Maybe this coming weekend?)
I'd love to see how it differs from the .22 conversion I have for my Glock. I have some .22 in the car, because my conversion kit is acting funny.

I’ve had good success with mine. I have found some bulk Winchester that it didn’t like but I actually put most of the blame on the Ammo.

I have noticed that if you aren’t careful and make sure the rounds are pointing up, you can have a feed malfunction on the first round.

Otherwise, I can 2nd the experience you had with yours. I’m about 500 rounds in overall.

It's pretty much the same thing as a G19 with a conversion kit.

I just loaded the magazines and didn't pay any attention to them. I'm just happy that it will work with the bulk ammo because I have a bunch of it. I was going to shoot all of it up so I'll only have CCI on hand. Not sure if I'll live that long. :D

Let’s see if I got this right...
  1. G44 is same as a G19 conversion
  2. G19 conversion acts funny
Anything we can forecast about the G44? ;)

I've got around 1500 rounds through my in the last couple of weeks, my neighbors probably are wishing the new would wear off. The only ammo if gotten any issues from was 5 light strikes on federal bulk ammo. 100% on CCI, anything from CCI, I've shot CCI standards, CCI suppressor, CCI Stinger and Velocitors, all cycled fine. As far as 19 conversion, this thing is very light, not sure if a conversion is this light.

I ordered a threaded barrel for mine from glock directly. That was on the 21st of Jan. Called yesterday for an update. They said it has been sent for packing and should receive an email that it shipped by the end of the week. Talk about slow...

My cousin bought a 44 and we shot it a bunch using several different brands of ammo. Aguila standard velocity was the only type it malfunctioned with. Even cheap Remington Thunderbolt ran well. My wife shot it and liked it, so I’ll probably be buying one.

If you buy her all the guns she likes, you may go broke! lol. But you're being a great husband!

Thanks, I try. It’s going to be either the 44 or a 22 Conversion for my 1911. I’ve owned a Kimber conversion, and they work well. The conversion kit or the 44 are around the same price.

Thanks for the post, Larry! I'm actively looking for a G44 that's in stock. How many magazines come with it? I know I'll buy more... just wondering.

They come with 2 10 rounders. Mine has been flawless with Federal bulk ammo. There was another G44 at BO today and it wouldn't run at all. He had some Winchester Sub Sonic and some CCI Quiet. They didn't have enough oomph to run the slide. We tried my ammo and it ran every round.

That makes sense. Win subs will barely run my MKIII and quiet CCI quiet isn't made for semi autos.

Look what followed me home today. lolView attachment 191330
Did you take your new G 44 out yet?
I took mine out today, no problem with mini mags and stinger rounds but lot of misfeeds with lead round nose (all sorts but especially Remington thunderbolt) especially the first round; did a little bit better with the lead round nose rounds if I only loaded 9 in the magazine. I guess I need to pay attention loading that last round or maybe the magazines need some “training” ;)

I had mine at Battery Oaks yesterday and @Mustang Jon , @Millie , any my self ran some round through it. Most of the ammo was Federal bulk with a few Winchester and Remington mixed in. No issues, at all, and they were making the steel sing.

I beg to differ.

Simply owning one of those is an issue. :p

I shot four or five mag through it and it never missed a beat and only missed the target due to me and not the gun. I was very impressed and it's on my short list now. My ten year old daughter is a little jealous that she missed shooting it.

He decided he didn't want it, or his wife decided he didn't want it?
