Browsed the forums for a while mainly looking for optics but never posted. Strong 2A advocate in the triangle area and if anyone can recommend a range for rifles that’s not almost a hour away, that would be great. Currently the only one I know is triangle shooting academy.

Welcome! Wake County Firearms Education & Training Center might not be too far from you, they have a 100m indoor range.
 
Welcome and glad to have you. Frontline Defense, Woody's hunt and gun club, are both about 45 minutes from you, but both are really good. I doubt you will find much closer unless a member has a farm they will have you out to their place.
 
Within an hour is tough. May want to try Freedom Gun Club (I think it’s run by the guys at Patriot Shooting Sports, in Youngsville, NC)
