Fishing on 8/18th or 25th

I'm trying to get away for a bit either one of those two days. LKN is still too busy so I'm scoping out some other places around the Morganton - Hickory areas. I know I could go further but wanted to keep travel down on this trip. Maybe a stream fishing, no kayak, trip in September up off the Parkway...

How is the Catawba between Rhodhiss and Lake Hickory?

Any other suggestions an hour away from Huntersville?

There is no Catawba between Rhodhiss and Hickory if you are looking for stream. They just butt up to each other.

There are a number of float options. But you may not be able to wade fish those same places.

Lower Wilson has some sunfish and smallies. So does John’s River. You can also rent a boat on the New, just did that today.
