How to edc a fixed blade? I’m thinking horizontal on weak side. At work I have no problem with a standard sheath as I work as a construction superintendent in the field. This is not for protection per se but when I go out with the family armed I would still like the option. I’m new to carry of a fixed blade as I always had or have a folder. As you see in pic a just started with an Esee 2” blade. This thing is tiny. I’m getting something a little large but not huge and want to make sure I have the right holster done. Any help, thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I carry a knife about that size in a vertical holster right next to my spare magazine. horizontal carry would not work with the mag carrier IMO.

Horizontal, vertical, or angled will all work dependent on which side you carry the knife on. I picked up two Hummingbirds by Knights Element via their Kickstarte campaign and upgraded the sheath clips. The Utili Clip is for vertical pocket or belt carry. The Mummert slotted clip is for angled belt carry, I believe mine is the "reversed" version.

I carry mine strong side, vertical and upside-down. The kydex sheath has sufficient retention to keep it secure, and i have it instantly available. Tried it with the handle sticking up but it kept poking me in the side; I like it this way. Still covered by an untucked shirt.

Vertical on the hip works great for me. Shirt covers it up. Easy accessible and doesn’t hit my beer belly when I sit or lean over.
