I realize the title sounds preposterous, but I find that whenever I'm working on something and need illumination, I still need both hands free to manipulate whatever I'm working on, so guess where the flashlight goes. Some flashlights are better than others for this. The pen sized Streamlight I carry is a bit on the small side and my mouth will tire out [yes, I'm making it too easy for you]. I've got a stubby light that works better for this, but something rubberized would be even better.

he is asking for it - let the smart replies start in 1, 2, 3

I'll start off by going for the obvious... you need a fleshlight. Preferably new, but I'm sure you could get away with "gently used".

Now that everyone is sufficiently revolted, I've used a Streamlight Polytac in the manner you described, but if it's that common, what about a headlamp?

Joe I have the same problem. What I used to do was buy camo felt tape (they make it for wrapping stuff you want to keep silent especially bows and other things).

Its like duct tape with a felt backing. Wrap the barrel of your mini mag with it and it feels 100 times better. I believe I used to get it at Walmart.

Now if that isn't what your looking for may I suggest a vaculock dildo. The hole in the back for the vaculock system is almost exactly the same size as a mini mag light.

Oh for... Something rubberized!?!?! Really!? I can't even...

Ever tried a headlamp? I like GoingGear.com for stuff like this.
Good idea. I actually have a cheap (free) Harbor Freight headlamp I've never used stored somewhere in a closet. I'd forgotten all about it until your post. I'll dig it out and use it next time. If that works well, that will be proof of concept and I'll likely have to upgrade to something better.

I used a headlamp once after being admonished here in a similar fashion, and it is indeed the bees knees. I have four or five now.

Headlamps are the bomb. For seeing in dark areas in daylight go for a powerful one, but you want one that will go pretty dim for nighttime use or you just blow out your own night vision especially if you have to work on something close up.

Hahaha. This thread hasn't gone NEARLY as sideways as I expected. You're a brave man to post a title like that, Joe.

I know I know I'm sorry it slipped!

A headlamp was great during the hurricane to get the generator out of the pitch black basement and fired up while i needed both hands. Then two months later I'm repairing a light switch with the breaker off in a dark office last week and forgot I own a headlamp.

Bwhahahaha slipped where!?

I like the Streamlight Microstream because the pocket clip doubles as a hat clip. If you wear a ball cap at all, just clip it to the bill of your hat and roll with it like a headlamp.

Headlamp seems to be the best answer but if you already have a mini maglight, the cloth camo tape should work great.

And you know this how????

Yeah, I was braced for incoming fire, but perhaps the Trumpening has people feeling more magnanimous.

Headlamps work great for handsfree light, execpt when you are working with someone else in close proximity cause when you look up at them or at them you blind them but thats not usually my problem to deal with unless they have a headlamp as well!

Yeah, I've ran into the same problem. My fFenix PD22 has flat spots on opposing sides that some what feels better to my teeth afterwords than the rough textured part the feels like I'm bitting down on a coarse rasp...

Utilitech 2 pack headlamp at Lowes. About $10. I keep them stashed around the house for power outages and general use when working on stuff in the dark. I think they are about 80 lumens.

Nebo makes a small flashlight that is magnetized. My wife has one in her car, and it makes it easier to change a tire at night among other things.

Man, get yourself a headlamp. You can pick up a decent one at wally world for under $40. Streamlight makes them too if you want to spend big bucks.

I've tried that last suggestion before. It worked just fine, but now the light is behind me. I guess if I ever wanted a reverse light...

I wore a headlamp all the time this past summer working on my deck after dark. I don't know what kind of battery it has but it's still as bright as it was new.

He has a really nice deck. His neighbors wife is always commenting on how nice his deck is.

You need a headlamp. If you are going get a dedicated headlamp, I recommend princeton tec, petzl, or black diamond in that order. If you want one that is very compact, look at the petzl zipka.

The guys with smaller decks are pretty jealous, too.

Better be sure to know everywhere that flashlight has been before you put it in your mouth.
A headlamp sounds like a pretty good idea now, right?

Their decks aren't as tall as Daves either. Shorter is not better

Aside from the obvious "how gay is that" fodder let's look at this from a personal hygiene angle. That's just nasty man.. you're begging to catch something foul putting tools in your mouth.

That's nastier than:
- grabbing the doorknob on the way out of the men's room
- putting down your menu and picking up a french fry
- letting your dog lick your face
- swapping underwear with Chdamn.

Ok maybe not that last one but... dat's nasty.
