Spent an awesome day fly fishing with my dad yesterday. My wife bought it for me as an early bday present

Raleigh Flies took us out on the Neuse for a half day and it was an amazing experience . Guide was super cool and put us on the fish. Dialed us in using the best flies too.

If y’all are looking for a great way to spend the day (beginner to experienced), look them up.

If you are scared to try fly fishing Orvis stores do a free class. Just have to call or go online and sign up. They give you a bunch of coupons at the end as well.

No idea on the $$ I'm sure it's on their website, but out of respect for the gift I didn't look. $50 or $500... it was awesome.

I could actually use some more flies, so ill likely stop I not Orvis soon.

Oh, you are done now. You thought guns were expensive. Lol. I was looking at Tenkara rods for backpacking today. Like I need another fly rod.

I’ve been looking at the Reyrgear setup for backpacking.

I’ve used my 6’6” 2 wt without the reel. Kind of fun. Just looped the leader to the top eye. But even then the tenkara rods are even lighter than mine.

I have a 6wt and a 3/4wt, bag full flies, multiple reels, etc. that cover all my needs. I love the quiet of the river. I actually take my fly gear for a stop at the river after the range. It’s such a relaxing way to spend a day.
