Well, after finding out that my FN9 that I use for IDPA needs to be checked by a gunsmith or FN certified armorer every 2000 rounds or 1 once a year, I'm pretty ticked. Probably going to ditch it, but I like it, so...

Would love you hear your opinions.

If FN's are so delicate they cant run more than 2000 rounds without a tune up/check out I would get rid of it and be done with the brand. Heck, Ive got CZ's, Springfields, an H&K, and a few others that routinely go longer round counts without so much as a basic field strip cleaning.

I'd go for the Sig. That is bs they have to be serviced that often. There are plenty of people out there that would to have that pistol and will probably never fire anywhere 2k in their lifetime.

I did have a Sig 238 that had to have the recoil spring changed out quite often. I can't remember the frequency but I dumped it because it was too frequent for my liking. Hopefully the 320 is better.

Never heard of this. Some stupidity to keep the warranty intact? Does FN cover the service/shipping?

The blurb about cleaning and inspection is a CYA recommendation of what you "should" do.

What do you expect from companies that give critically necessary advice such as:
When returning your FN firearm for servicing you must do the following:
1. Be sure it is completely unloaded.

I hear ya, brother....Ive got a CZ P01 chugging along at about 1500 or so since it's last cleaning, witn zero hiccups. Last year I sold a H&K USP40 I owned for about fourteen years that had well over 25k through it and still ran as good as the day it left the factory.
I fail to understand how products from a quality/reputable manufacturer such as FN could not do the same.

The 2000 round check up is necessary to maintain the warranty. Pretty sure it's a goner. I know it's a CYA move, but still it ticks me off and is an unnecessary hassle.

I'd sell it an get a Glock or an M&P.
