Hi everyone.

I'm Steve. In the process of moving to Morehead City NC on the coast from Central MA.

I'm a frequent contributor to the NortheastShooters.com forums, where I use the same handle.

I wish I exercised my 2nd Amendment Rights as much as I spend discussing and defending them. I signed up for my MA gun license the day after our last president was elected (the first time), and over the last nine years ago built up a 'starter' collection.I have a few handguns, a couple ARs, an 870, Ruger GSR .308, and a 10/22. Might try to attend a USPSA or IDPA event to see if that'd be of interest vs shooting while seated or standing stationary, which is mostly what I've been doing...

Looking forward to participating here at CFF, and perhaps meeting some of you if there are any events planned.

-Steve

Welcome Steve. There's a ton of good matches in this area. Check out the Competition section if you need any direction.

Welcome, Steve, we're happy to have you with us.

Howdy from Davidson County!

Hello from JoCo. I was a frequent visitor to Westboro and Framingam in a previous life.

Welcome Steve!

Welcome to CFF from upstate SC.

I too am a transplant from up there, albeit from the free state of NH (just barely, I was just about a mile outside of the People's Republic of Marxachusetts). I'm also an NESer using the same handle.

I hope you sold all your pre-ban items to your friends left behind the lines. You can pick it up cheaper here and even get current production items. Arbitrage is a wonderful thing. It's too bad the statist types give it a bad name by calling it smuggling.

Welcome to CFF, enjoy the forum

Wait until the first time you walk into a WalMart and walk out with a box of ammo. Then you'll know you're living in a new reality.

By the way, speaking of ammo, check out www.OutdoorLimited.com. Great prices, amazing service and you'll be supporting a local small business.

Wa heck Steve I met a friend from Northeast Shooters a while back by the name o "Shadyduk"... dunno what happened ta him...he visited the old Carolina site I was in.
Anyway...welcome to the forum. :)

Welcome Steve.

My wife's cousin from Ma came to visit the other week.
He was like
" seriously ? You can just walk around with it on your hip??
And drive around with it on the seat of the truck ???
! "

Greetings Steve and welcome to CFF! Happy to have you here.

We have WalMart stores in New England. MA stores sell ammo if you have an LTC for them to check. NH sells without ID checks (assuming you're not in a border town). Mail order IS new. Even though it's technically not illegal, nobody will ship to MA.

I did sell a pre-(Healey)ban AR lower and A2 buttstock to a friend before I left. Since 7/20/16, no new ARs can be sold in MA thanks to AG Healey's "reinterpretation" of the 1998 AWB. But people who own them already can re-sell if they're inclined. No profiteering here, though.

Welcome. You can upgrade to a non neutered AR now.

Open carry IS legal in MA (if you have an LTC). However, the LTC is granted based on your local police chief's perception of your "suitability." If the popo keep getting "ZOMG a man with a gun!" calls about you, even if you're doing nothing wrong, your suitability could come into question at renewal time. Concealed is tactically more advantageous anyway, so most of us just conceal. And as long as it's within your "sphere of control" you could leave your gat on the seat next to you, too. There are some convoluted transport/storage laws, though. Best to just keep it holstered.

Welcome Steve and thanks for joining up with us here.

Welcome to NC and the forum I'm new to the forum myself but these guys make you feel like you been around a while.
It's a good place to be

welcome.
Escaped MA back in 2008, 3 weeks before Devil Patrick for on tv declaring "the worst ice storm in 50 years. "
I'm on NES as well as an escapee from MA. Some of them get upset when I post a comment about what life is like down here.

You'll be able to easily identify fellow transplants when driving. They are the only ones who use the blinkah one their caah.

And just how would you know that?

People around here forget to signal, or don't bother or just never got into the habit of it. Occasionally when they do signal, they do so only when they are halfway through their turn. It's neglectful certainly, but not malicious.

If you're from the People's Republic of Marxachusetts, you surely know that using your turn signal is betraying your intentions to the enemy. They take that discipline seriously. It just ain't done.

Welcome, from just up the road near MCAS Cherry Point. Been here 25 years, from Maine. You'll love it here!!

Congrats on your escape. I'm still a prisoner in the 413 with about 2 years to go until I'm eligible for parole. I do get the annual furlough however to head down to SC and scope out a place to land.
