French Army Announces Adoption of Glock 17

Oh for petes sake, enough with the "French suck" garbage...they at one point controlled all of Europe, were some of the finest troops in WW1, and them holding back the germans are the only reason the Brits were able to evacuate at Dunkirk. Many of them continued to fight, resist, and die under Nazi control while the other Allies got their stuff together and their underground provided amazing intel and support for the invasion force. GB only held on because Hitler was hesitant at first to invade, and then only survived due to radar.

True, their martial history is...balanced. In addition to your examples there is the Maginot Line, Petain, the Vichy, the Vichy in North Africa...

In all seriousness, we were deployed with one of their FFL units (I know, not Frenchmen, but all French leadership), and they were seriously good to go. I had no issue being shoulder-to-shoulder with them.

The FFL are fine by me, they were in Djibouti when I was there and are seriously hardcore, regardless of them wearing hot pants in the desert.

Oh, I admit it was witty. Im just being a BB right now, curmudgeonly. I usually like to give the French a major dose of grief as well because its in style...just had a moment of "OH COME ON!" and it came out.

Eh, they did actually fight the US/Allies in Africa. And they do mostly suck and have sucked since WW2. Sure there are French tough guys and good people, but as a culture they have been in decline for almost a century.

All that said, we are right behind them so we shouldn’t gloat too much.
