From the Ruger Forum 223 explode from 5.56 ammo

Yeah that had nothing to do with 556 vs 223. You can shoot a 300blk out of a 223 and the bullet will still probably shape itself out the barrel. His previous bullet never made it out.

That's not why it kaboomed 223 vs 5.56 only matters when you're handloading

The M77 receiver is pretty robust and Ruger barrels are also. I gotta go with the camp thereā€™s more than just a 5.56 out of a .223.

His daughter fired it before he did, I agree most likely squib load.
honestly, this is a main reason i tend to keep a flashlight around, especially when i'm shooting. been a few times i just shine it back up the barrel to quickly see if there is an obstruction

also, i think most commercial 5.56 loads are a little light anyway, aren't they? since 5.56 is really only about 10% hotter than .223, and everything in the world is designed to take 50% more than advertised...
well let's just say i have shot my share of 5.56 through a ".223 only" keltec rifle and i still have all my neck veins intact.

could be worse... ruger had recalls when they stole the p3at design and now S&W has recalls for stealing the ksg design...
No doubt, there are several Kel-Tecs I'd love to own I'd they weren't unobtainium. Still, have to admire their refusal to go into debt to meet demand.

We did commerical reloading and we loaded both .223 and 5.56 to same specs for safety reasons. Heck most were trimmed the same. But that could of be just the business I worked for.

that is the second complete load of crap from the ruger forum in as many days. Don't think I'll be signing up over there.
