My wife gave me a Ruger Blackhawk 45C/ACP convertible today as an anniversary gift ( 4-5/8”). I have wanted one for ages to do some work on. Unfortunately, the front sight is canted significantly to the left. I COULD call Ruger, and they will tell me to send it back, and I will only do that as a last-ditch effort. Anyone know of a drill/tap replacement base that might work? Anyone deal with this kind of thing before?
Thanks

Send it back.

edit: If the front sight does not line up properly, the ejector rod and sleeve probably do not either. Let them deal with it.

This.

To get the existing sight, which is silver soldered on, off will require enough heat to likely ruin the finish, so it's not just a sight replacement but then rebluing and the barrel under the sight is likely in the white. Pretty sure they are blued after front sight assembly.

Give them a call, they'll send a label, drop it at UPS and let them handle the rest.
