For Sale - Pre-war Savage Model 23D .22 Hornet Centerfire. Savage Arms made the 23D model from 1923-1942. Based on the serial number, this one was likely made between 39 and 42. (steel buttplate) This one is in very good condition, very good bluing and the checkering on the stock is sharp and distinct. The barrel has a beautiful bore. It has a Weaver scope and rings made in El Paso TX with nice clear lenses that from what my Grandfather told me, has been on it since the rifle was new. Been in the family since then. .22 Hornet Caliber was meant for varmints and coyotes and is kind of the precursor to the .223 round of later decades. Pretty neat. Selling with two boxes of Centerfire .22 Hornet ammo as pictured (one is full and the other is about 75%) This is another fine old rifle that you handle and think “they just don’t make them like this anymore.” Asking $550 Local pick up only in the Garner/Raleigh area. Please be ready to show NC ID and CCH permit or a valid pistol purchase permit to prove legality to own firearms and sign a bill of sale. All local and federal laws obeyed.
