quote:
Such fuel pilfering cases are up in Broward County, with 16 people charged so far this year compared with 10 last year. Between 2013 and 2017, only seven were charged.
The Florida Highway Patrol’s Troop E, which patrols Miami-Dade County, has seen a proliferation, detaining more than 30 vehicles with so-called fuel bladders,
or concealed fuel compartments, in the two years since troopers ran across their first modified truck.

So, it's not the amount of gas it's the payment = stolen gas.

Fake Headline News : Extra gas tanks are bad!

It's all in the names...

The cartels have realized how much money is in petroleum. They crack into pipelines, fraudulently buy gas, and sell it on the black market. Looks like the illegal aliens have brought the game north of the border...

Extra tanks my butt. This was a thing in PHX when gas prices went double-dog stupid a decade ago. Cars were gutted, suspension beefed up, any space the driver didn't occupy was one big welded up fuel cell. Rolling bomb.

When your CC number gets stolen and you wonder what the hell they filled up to the tune of $2500, welp, there you go....

I read the article. The topic is the amount of gas = bad, must stop. But the illegal part, how it's stolen, is secondary and not the topic of the article.

No, it couldn’t be the illegals! The Dems have told us how nice and law abiding people they are, and I believe them!

I actually had to register my rx7 with the state when I lived in NC due to having an extra fuel cell, all 5 gallons of it. Another $50 tax...

There was a man set up beside us at the Murder Beach gun show selling....long plastic syphoning hoses. @Geezer and I laughed at him heartily.....in 2 days he Damn near Sold Out!!!!!
