Galil mags in an AR15?

I love weird Frankenstein gun creations. So the wheels in my head have been turning.

People have found out you can use a 7.62x39 lower on a Sig556 upper to run 5.56 out of Galil magazines.

So what I’m wondering, is can you use a 7.62x39 KS47 lower to do the same thing with an AR15 upper?




I know there is no logical reason to do this, but that does not slow down my curiosity.

A quick test answered my own question. The Galil mags will not fit far enough into the upper to get close to the bolt.

It might fit with the KS 47 upper, which is wider to accommodate the ak mags

Would a 223 barrel fit in that upper?

I think any ar47 barrel works with KS47 upper.
